Confirmed on local news the Gills have extended the short term contract of Peter Taylor to the end of the year.
At least we will not have to contend with the new manager syndrome on Saturday.

They don't seem that happy about things down there..On the Manager it seems 50/50 reading there forums and Chairman Scally seems to be under fire for the way he's ran the club..not helped by the failure to administer a minutes silence on Saturday, and Taylor criticising fans for booing and unrealistic expectations. They don't seem to give their team much hope for Saturday either...hope they are right.

A few comments underneath the article aswell if anyone's interested.

Very interesting report and comments by the fans who have been unsettled by many promises since Scally took over,a new ground was mentioned but they must take heart from the fact that the club are still in business.
I do not know the clubs financial situation these days. The main problem is the small fan base as Kent is not known as a football county and with the London clubs near by, some 40 miles away a lot of fans go to Charlton, who in fact provide subsidised coaches for fans from this area and also the Sussex coast as well.
Was very much involved with Gillingham FC pre Scally days, did have and produce some good players, notably Steve Bruce and Gavin Peacock, but going back a long time now.
