Uremovic situation

I like the look of him and would have played him more.

But from his side, unless things change, he has all summer to find a club anywhere so is he really going to go for a club that has picked him in 3/7 matches.

I don't know why we haven't been picking him at RCB and Basham at RWB. It's not like Baldock hasn't been playing poorly when he's been fit and it isn't like Osborn is a great option at RWB. He's a stop gap. I mean, are we seriously going to pick a left footed midfielder at right wing back and sideline a Croatian International defender against a team who has just smashed 7 in? Why would you risk some defensive fragility when you have a powerful defender in your ranks?

I can't say having Baldock or Osborn there provided any massive boost in the last three matches. Baldock was awol on the goal at Stoke, which was heavily Basham's fault and at QPR having a stronger defender in there wouldn't have hurt. For me, we've got away with Ben, but Uremovic comes back in asap.

Well said friend.

I'm baffled by it as well don't see how he can't get into our starting 11. From what I've seen of him he's everything we want hard no nonsense. That last ditch tackle when Bournemouth come sold him for me. Must be a reason 🤔

My thoughts would be put bash in as CDM (didn't he start his career there??) with Norwood

Slight correction. Just realised I meant Bristol C not Stoke, where it was Basham's fault but Baldock was nowhere. To emphasize the point Baldock was missing on the Stoke goal as well as Davies.

He needs to move the ball quicker when in possession. I like the look of him defensively but it is just going forward where he doesn't seem up to speed.

Pretty sure Uremovic plays right back in internationals anyway

Maybe so, but is it any different than playing a left footed mid there?
Personally, I'd say so.

Even though Oz is left footed, he's still a hell of a lot more mobile and comfortable on the ball than Uremovic.

If people flip out at the lack of end product from Baldock and Oz then they'd melt down if Uremovic played there!

Our wing backs are a huge part of how we advance possession up the pitch, I feel like we need someone with a good amount of forward mobility there

Really really ?

Every time osborne gets the ball he cannot pass the ball down the right side as he isn't right footed

Also its Bash V Osborne I would say for the RB position of which id say bash is far better at Right back

I hear that, but nearly everytime Uremovic has tried to move forward with the ball for us, he's lost it or looked very uncomfortable and that's just as a centre back, he'd be lost at RWB in our system in my opinion.

I feel Bash would have been at RWB recently if it weren't for him only recently returning from injury. Again, as the wingbacks are so instrumental in our advances, it's a role that requires a high level of fitness and effort in our system. For me, that means Oz has been the best choice whilst we've been battling these recent injuries.

For the Fulham game, depending on Baldock's fitness, I'd agree with you on having Bash at RWB (now he's back and had a couple of games) and put Uremovic in as the third centre back, with the single duty of taking massive lumps out of Mitrovic 😂

Uremovic is probably best suited to Egan's position, just win the ball and pass it 10 yards sideways to a bloke in a red and white shirt. His defending against Bournemouth was fantastic but on more than a few occasions he gave the ball away or shanked it into the stands.

Playing a conventional 3 at the back where there's no expectation for him to get forward he'd be absolutely fine on the right hand side of them but we don't do that and that's where he's found wanting, unless we do something more conventional against Fulham. He seems the sort who if he didn't head the ball, he'd happily head Mitrovic.

Possibly even though has done well on the ball and looks a better defender than bash , nobody will be as good as bash going forward

If its to do with balance playing osborn at right back is the exact opposite of balanced

I think it's more to do with managing injuries and returning players' fitness levels!

Only the gaffers know why they do what they do, and they're doing alreyt so far if you ask me 😎🔴⚪⚫

The main problem with Osborn on the right is he is incredibly predictable by turning back to pass on his left foot, he does this 99% of the time and inevitably slows the attack down as a result, since he has been at RB I think I've seen him kick it with his right less than 5 times.

I don't get the hype around him personally. I think he’s been a bit hit & miss in the games i’ve watched him in so far.

First of all, Hecky is starting players who belong to Sheffield United, now and in the future. With the obvious exception of MGW. If MGW is fit, he has to play.
There is definitely a case for strength at the back. Given what I just said, I can see a very strong case for Uremovic at RCB and Basham at RWB. Not much to choose from on the other side except for JLT and Edna.
If Fleck is doubtful play Hourihane with Fleck on the bench.
If Billy wants to play, then play him with Ndaye up front with Osula on the bench.

Hecky can have his Blades players in the play offs, but we need to get there first. Strength at the back. Excitement in midfield, keep them guessing at set plays, and pace with guile up front.
Even if Fulham are on the piss all week, they will still be a threat.

A flexible formation who can adapt, depending which Fulham team turn up.

I think Ben is getting a bit of unfair stick from a few people on this thread, admittedly me included...

I've just had another watch of this and there are actually 3 good right-footed crosses from him in this match alone, alongside a couple of vital bits of link up play as well.

Definitely a better choice for RWB than Bash, in hindsight. Although he'd have his work cut out for him with Carvalho, so hopefully Furious is back fit 🤞🏻
