With a minus 8 goal difference (call it minus 9 because we have scored too few goals) a scenario.

Leicester put 4 or 5 past Donny next Saturday, can we win by two clear goals? Takes them to -27 or -28 and us to -29.

I think it is unlikely we could go to Swansea and win by more than one goal so that would be -28, but if Donny lost to Boro by a goal they would be -28 or -29. -28 all is no good as they would still have scored more goals than us.

So that's it then. The foxes must stuff Rovers by 5 and we need to beat the Dingles by 3. Then it's game on!

Not impossible but can McCabe fix it. That's the question! (shades of Kay, Swindon, Tevez etc) the only alternative.

I suspect we will only draw against Donny but by half time next Saturday should be clear if it will go to the wire.

We just need to keep trying as hard as we can, it would be awful to throw the towel in now only to discover that a couple of 2-0 wins might have been enough.

If the usual football Gods are looking down on us then we'll somehow find a way of screwing it up ourselves. You can bet that we'll put 3 or 4 past the Dingles and Leicester will do likewise to Donny. Donny will then be 3-0 down on the final day only for us to miss a pen in the last minute at Swansea.

Maybe we should ring our friends at West Ham to see how they did it against Man U. Oh, we've wrecked any chance of getting advice off them. That's us stuffed then.

I think that despite Palace's relatively good form they are still the team we should be looking at catching. I fancy Donny to get a point out of Leicester & Boro.

They (Palace) are not very good away and I fancy Hull to bang in a few goals against them then they play Forest on the final day who will need a result to get into the playoffs and have won their last two.

If we were to beat Barnsley by three clear goals and hope Hull do the same to Palace that is a six goal swing before the final day. Admittingly we would need to beat Swansea by two clear goals and hope Forest beat them by two clear goals.

This reminds me a bit like our late charge to automatic promotion (!!!) the year before last, just left things a few games too late.

We need to play like a team posessed against Barnsley, as fans we need to raise the roof, if we stick 5 past a Barnsley side with nothing to play for, we turn GD to our advantage and increase the heat on Palace and Donny another few degrees.

If Palace and Donny pick up another point then bad luck we're down, but lets make sure that if either of them finish on 47 points they finish below us.

But Saturday is a derby, always unpredictable. You say they have nothing to play for, but they'd just love to beat us and send us down. WHy should Leicester be busting a gut to beat Donny. Unlikely they are going to get into the play offs.

Our chances of staying up are probably 100-1, but my point is that we have to keep going right to the very end and at least make sure that we force Palace and Donny to get that final point they need for safety.

why would we want advice off them ,they cheated ,got away with it and then continued to be chavvy cunts who only serve to embarass football as a whole and also fashion

That would only be true if 11 Barnsley fans were going to be playing against us.

looking hard but we need others teams to help us its just matter of winning and waiting and praying.

With two games to go they are six points off the play offs and must make up a goal difference of nine. They're in a very similar situation to us. They must go for goals too, they have nothing to lose. Hopefully they'll get a few against Donny.

I hate to break it to people, but we are already as good as down. It's highly unlikely that we get the series of results that enable us to make a miraculous escape, as much as i would like to see it.

What i would like to see us do, is go out against Barnsley with a bit of fire in our bellies, and go out and give them a hiding. When we go down, we need to go down fighting and hopefully a decent end to the season will give us a little of confidence and belief going in to next season.

Agree with Brownie. We're down, but it's going to be heartbreakingly close. Finish the season well and no excuses next season in a pub league.
