I went down a rabbithole this afternoon and ended up with 2 lists - Pre and post 2nd WW - of Uniteds greatest goalscorers.
Explanation - Because I don't have exact data of goals scored per season, I had to use a weighted average. Basically, a goal scored in Division 1/Prem is worth 4 points and a goal scored in Divison 4 is worth 1 point.
Players goals score was calculated by taking their average season scored (total score of seasons played divided by seasons played.) so if a player played 4 seasons, 2 in division 1 and 2 in division 2 their score would be 4+4+3+3 divided by 4. Equalling 14/4 or 3.5. Their total goals scored record was then multiplied by 3.5.
I used goals per game, and goals per appearance to rank the players. I then made a total rank from those two figures to leave a final ranking.

Discuss, don't discuss. It doesn't matter. I love stuff like this so if you find it interesting I'm glad
