Noticed Prince Abdullah’s Eid message this evening and couldn‘t help but notice a few things. Al Hilal is on there, Beerschot in Belgium of course, United...then what’s on the left? The United Shore Baseball League in Michigan? I‘d not heard of it at all but it seems to be like second chance for youngsters not drafted by any MLB affiliates. Like a Glenn Hoddle Academy for baseball.

Anyway, that was a bit of a needless distraction, brought about by a baseball interest. More to the point though, was what this league logo was doing prominently placed alongside the football clubs?

I then of course spot the United World logo and web address. Prince Abdullah founder and chairman. Giansiracusa Vice Chairman. Van Winkel Technical Director. Bettis and the chairman advisors. Various others I’m unfamiliar with. It is seemingly the new umbrella organisation bringing together all of Prince Abdullah’s sporting interests within one group.

United World offers tailored services for sports organizations and give a unique perspective in understanding the needs of our clients and providing innovative solutions to their problems
  • mergers & acquisitions
  • business management
  • branding and international reach
  • commercial and sponsorships
  • technical advisory
  • sports tech and e-sports
  • data analytics
  • merchandising
  • new revenue streams development
Looks as though the website’s very recently launched. Based in Geneva. Their linkedin (their only social media presence) has been running for 3 months.

Interesting development – and one to keep a close eye on. The name at least is on point.

Apologies in advance if this is not new news...

Easier to attract sponsors perhaps?

Are you going to invest with that guy with a football team, or are you doing to invest with the guy who operates a multi sport multi franchise business? Sort of thing.

Or another revenue stream tied to us? If he's got a sports consultancy business on the side with some successful teams in it, he can charge plenty and invest more into his teams.

Very possible, it would make some sense.

The post wasn’t to raise alarm at this stage. And to be honest raising the visibility of who is involved with the club is probably a better scenario than having it all bubbling on out of the public eye.

There are a few other companies listed as partners that I know nothing at all about.

There are a few other companies listed as partners that I know nothing at all about.

These being:

Wave Swimming Academy – seems to be run by Al Reem Sports Company, headed by Reinhardt Strijdom (advisor for United World), former coach of the Saudi Olympic swimming team.

Nexus Frontier Tech – what looks like a tech start-up using AI tools for the financial sector, offices in London, Tokyo, Singapore, Boston and Hanoi.

UFM Radio – radio station in Saudi Arabia. Going by PA’s tweets, it seems they cover the Al Hilal club.

Arena Fitness Innovation – basically a few gyms in Saudi Arabia.

Dwam Company – its site says “considered as one of the pioneering and reliable companies in the field of import, export and manufacturing.” Based in Riyadh and China.

It’s a bit of a weird mix of stuff in all honesty, but the United World site is slicker and a bit clearer in our links with it.

Have to admit, when I first saw this it brought back memories of The Blades Way that McCabe had branded with Ferencvaros, Chengdu, Central Coast etc. In fact he may well be sitting in McCabe Towers highlighting that he did all this first...

Glad I'm not the only one who spotted this and did a bit of digging. Definitely something to keep an eye on as you said

Or a provider of professional services and an easy way for the owners to take money out of the businesses that they're providing those services to?

Steve Bettis - "thanks very much for the advice Jan. We'll have a good look at that"

Jan V W - "No problems Steve. That'll be $50,000 please. The invoice is in the post"

Maybe these are signs that the Prince is taking the necessary steps to being in new sponsors previously referred to whilst also developing a sports brand that opens up new revenue streams. The fact Bettis is included in the structure is encouraging. Blades Leisure Limited shares are held with the United Investments Company which seems to be consistent with the United World Brand. If they've patented the name that will really piss off Newton Heath and the media as in their world United reside in Manchester. Well spotted LB.

That was my immediate reaction too.

I’d also suggest it’s an indication that this is something they want to continue to build rather than simply move on to another buyer. Despite suggestions to the contrary from some a year ago, there was never any indication that Prince Abdullah was planning to sell up any time soon.

At the same time you spotted this, I noticed that walkers beef and onion crisps contain no meat extracts, thus making them suitable for vegetarians

I agree sustainability for the future. Maybe this explains the McCabe comment about the stadium being transferred to third parties he didn't recognise in his Matt Barlow inspired rant back in March. :)

Didn't HRH go into partnership with someone and set up a property investment company?

I thought I'd read somewhere they had made acquisitions?

Just googled and found this:

At the same time you spotted this, I noticed that walkers beef and onion crisps contain no meat extracts, thus making them suitable for vegetarians
I also noticed around the same time that it was very warm and sunny. Fortunately I was indoors making a coffee so didn't get sunburnt. ;)

Beef and onion walkers used to be my favourite crisps, but then they found out they had a carcinogenic food dye or flavouring in them, so they got rid of them for a while, they came back as steak and onion I think, and then beef and onion again, but they've never been the same.

Beef and onion history for you there.

Just to clarify cause I lost interest a while back. Does HRH own the job lot now including BL or has McCabe still got a foot in the door?

No mention has been made of the Kop Land sites so it seems KM has these still but everything else has passed to the Prince including the ground and other assets.

Don‘t quite understand that.
Surely the land at the back of the Kop is part of Bramall Lane...and comes with the stadium?

Not this again..

In a nutshell, there are two small plots on the Bramall Lane site whose title is separate and still owned by McCabe-led companies. The problematic one is the corner behind the Kop turnstiles on John Street/Shoreham Street.

Well spotted, ta for sharing.

Thought this was going to be the follow up to Westworld, disappointed doesn't start to address it.

You’re thinking of Bladesworld, the theme park where you got to re-enact each playoff final as a United striker where you can:
  • battle the raging heat of Old Wembley, attempting to score in vain while your team-mates melt around you
  • enjoy the run-up to the Millennium Stadium, attempting to bridge the differences during the squad’s pre-match golf sesh
  • fight the combined duo of Burnley and Mike Dean in the Return to Wembley
  • test your will to live in The Match That Just Wouldn’t End
The park had to be shut down due to persistent glitches that caused a revolt from the the park hosts: the sudden death penalty shootout in the last level became a Chris Porter Slaughter, while the Andy Taylor character suddenly became self-aware.

The EFL also stepped in due to copyright over the BladesWorld video service.

Who owns freeholds?
I read somewhere that the term 'Freehold' comes from holding it for free from the crown. In fact the Crown owns everything and we hold it for free but it can be taken back by the crown at anytime. You seem like a knowledgable chap, is that true?

Is that the home of the famous "Jamie Ward Booking Bonanza"? A test of petulance and stupidy, where you race to see who can get sent of 1st?

"That's a foul ref!"
Ref turns around, it's Yul Brenner, "you say something boy?"
