hodgys book was a cracking read if you grew up in the 50s and 60s but did have factual errors main one being that we played west ham last day of the 67/68 relegation season edwards and kenworthys books are also good reads and suprisingly both were complimentary towards curran
I'm glad you mentioned the last game of the 67/68 season. It was Chelsea wasnt it? I went with my grandad and was gutted. I recall that's when he said 'They'll allus let thi darn Dave' Then we went to see the end of a cricket match at Firvale where my uncle was playing to tell him the score.

The stories are mainly from Kitson but, contrary to what the Guardian said at the time the series was produced, stories obtained from other footballers were also used in the column and are also in the book. One of them concerns Danny Higginbotham, for example.
I've read the first TSF book and am now reading Access All Areas, which is actually pretty good.

It's 100% Kitson though, it's just frustrating that he can't name names in some of the more interesting parts.

There's a section that is clearly about us where he mentions his contract was extended after Christmas, as a player who was supposed to return at Christmas, didn't. Anyone know who that was and the story behind it?
