It was really good (but we stayed in a more expensive hotel than we usually would cos of lockdown bargain, so that helped).

Good vibe. We stayed in Playa de Las Americas and popped over to Los Christianos. Most seafront places open and pretty busy. If you go back into town it is quieter (about 1 in 10 places open) but enough bars and restaurants to find some life if you want it. Footy bars (Leonardo's etc.) open... although that won't be an issue for you... we had a dozen chirping Leeds fans just behind us when we watched Everton game but good natured stuff). We with young family so didn't hit 'nightlife' but all seemed to be getting lively from midnight-ish.

Folk seem genuinely pleased to see tourists (and I'm usually sceptical of over friendly employees). Good deals most places. We got a fantastic whale / dolphin cruise for bargain price even though only 18 allowed on boat instead of usual 40 odd (although tbf we tipped pretty heavily as service was so good).

Everywhere we went seemed relaxed, about 1 in 50 wearing masks just out and about (and in bars, restaurants, etc.). Shops and supermarkets request masks and most staff wear them in most places, although even within one week this was becoming more relaxed. I know the general tone on here and elsewhere seems to be one of 'safety first' and the tourists here (lots of Spanish, Germans and Scandis) are almost by definition a more relaxed bunch about CV, but to me it's been refreshing to be among people who are getting on with life and having fun. Kids adored the pools in our hotel, dozens of em having a great time and not a mask in sight. I think they are safe.
Just seen Spain is being put back on the 2 week quarantine list upon return!! Absolutely no chance will I be doing that.

Yes, saw the news last night. My daughter and friends are booked for Barcelona in a couple of weeks so she is in a similar situation. A slight glimmer of light for you is that there are already talks about treating the Canary Islands differently as CV rates there are minuscule, but everything is very unclear (and irrational) at the minute.

We have very knowledgeable contacts in the travel industry and at the moment they are as in the dark as the rest of us with last night's announcement (they advised us on last week's booking and were correct about hotels, 'air corridors', quarantine etc., but they did not see this latest policy coming).

In terms of CV risks rather than the travel situation my own understanding of the bigger situation in Spain is outlined here (random twitter guy, but explains it more clearly than others I have seen):

We were lucky with our dates, it seems at the moment like you are unlucky (hope refunds etc. in place). However, we are also tempted by more very, very good deals this morning as it really is a buyer's market! It may seem daft, but when we initially booked for last week's holiday it was considered by some of our friends as strange at best, madness at worst... we will wait for 'insider' advice again. I don't know if any advice we may get would be of any use to you, but I can see how cancelling seems the best option.

Good luck with it all!

Me and my partner set up a little online shop selling custom printed neck warmers / snoods as an alternative face covering to masks. I wanted to do some based on retro football kits, and my partner some with animal prints etc. They take about 2 weeks to arrive from ordering as there's a bit of a backlog with the printers. They're also more expensive than your standard style masks, but hopefully they'll be of further use after the pandemic so worth it in the long run. Sorry if this post isn't allowed admins, feel free to remove it or let me know and I'll delete it - cheers!

All the United ones we have so far are here: https://casualmasks.co.uk/collections/sheffield-united

We can also make other kits on request, the 86-89 yellow away shirt is the next on my list!

No wonder they're expensive after you've paid Jesse Lingard to model them 😛

Wow you and your partner look very much alike, I can see why you were attracted to each other 😙UTB

I purchased 2 of the black facemasks from the club store yesterday(Saturday). There were a couple of dozen facemarks left.
Online it had been showing that none were available.

Pack of 4 for £20 from a UK Company called Contrado - for the record i've no links to them whatsoever so that isn't a sales pitch 😂

Just upload a HQ image and move and scale etc. I think I screenshotted that image from a SUFC Youtube video a couple of years back.
£25.75 with postage (rip off £5.75), trying to checkout with PayPal and it keeps freezing  And chat with agent not working, they must be pulled out exploiting the pandemic😷

Keep yours on then seriously passing me off wearing one for nothing but political points and to feel like a sheep

Wearing them is for preventing your snot and spittle from spreading around, but I am interested in these points. How do you get them? Is there some form of club card? Where can I spend them?

My folks sent me the black one from the club shop for my birthday. Was nearly three weeks late on delivery, but compared with other masks I’ve tried I was quite impressed.

Self designed masks have finally arrived. Got to say I’m more than happy with them UTB
