restored to line up today for first time in.. ages.. defeat.. for first time in ages.

get off his back. Just because he has played is not the reason we lost. Carlisle got a point at Huddersfield - something we didnt manage at home. They arent a bad side

Can't blame Monty for this one, playing out of position in his first game for a long time.

Could do with a back up right back (Ertl??) as we have three left backs now Taylor is on his way back.

It's almost like we sold all our good right backs to the Premier League.

>get off his back
i merely noted that a winning side had been changed and we'd lost:p

So you would have rather played with an injured player than with monty? What it did show was we havent any real cover for lowton. Ertl isnt the answer.

A refreshing New Year post with Pinchy throwing some more thought provoking insight into the goings on at Sheffield United. Why bother with Deadbat's stuff, when you can have 1500 posts from Pinchy varying from things like "Monty is shite", right through to "Monty is shite".

Keep it up Pinchy,we love reading your material.

UTB

You've clearly missed the majority of it!

it goes without saying that probably a very high percentage of these are negative about either Monty or Quinn. If only he could turn all this negative loathing in to positive support

It's actually positive loathing. I'm advocating the immediate removal of an expensive liability! It can only benefit us.

I see Quinn starred again.

Earlier on this season you was praising Quinn, having said that over the last few months his performances have dropped quite a bit, just as soon as some people started calling him the ginger messi

Elian Parrino?

Actually you may be right. It may benefit this forum, 95% less posting from you may not be a bad thing.
Computer cold turkey for you when he leaves, Have you thought about how you'll cope?

Also Jordan Stewart with a glowing report from some game below!!!

Stewart 1/10 – A dreadful performance where his second touch all game was a tackle; his distribution was appalling and overall just proved he is not good enough. Frighteningly with the likes of Taylor in reserve and Naysmith injured there is no other real option at the moment. Only gets a mark or two for the two shots he had. I did not know what he would do next when the ball went near him.

Tell me, did he play the exact game twice and get a lower mark in one game, or did the above mark mysteriously change in the world of cyber space?

Elian Parrino?

After his performance against Bradford then an out of position Monty would be better. Heres one for you Why not play Williamson there? Yes out of position but everyone says how well he does getting back to help.
As for left back what happened to Marc Warren?

ii'd rather we picked my mother.. she's 70 odd .. quinn has reverted back to elpiton now that the interest has receeded

A change in the way deadbat marks player would be good. His reports are generally well received but they are his opinion. Although i'm sure his intention is to be as impartial as possible. If your intention is to be impartial (all be it from a fans point of view) then surley you should not give marks. If you give marks you are then offering further opinion so lets go a little further and mark out of 20, or just give a general assessment of player without marks.

Some very good points in there. When i read the reports its obvious how much deadbat puts in to them but I do like the idea of extending the point to out of 20.

Why not have a voting system so we can all mark them. Then the average score for each player would show. Of course it needs everyone to be honest and not just give a 1 to Monty just because its Monty even though he just played a blinder (ok unlikley I know)

I think that Deadbats reports are first class - he says it as he sees it and from my perspective he's never very far off the mark with either his marks or his commentary!
His marks are of course subjective but if the player has performed poorly then does it matter whether its a 2,3 or 4
For our exiled fans his reports give a true and thorough account of the match and the relevant performances and are sometimes the only comprehensive reports available without a load of bias either for or against!
Carry on Deadbat

As Deadbat spends a considerable amount of time writing up detailed reports for each game, personally I think he's entitled to mark the players as he sees it. If you don't agree, put up something different! It would be a detriment to the forum if everything had to be agreed en masse before it could be posted.

As Fiery says, it's also good for us exiles to get a second opinion on the games we don't attend.

Why not just send in your own match report and mark them yourself? Deadbat writes it so has the right to say what he likes. Simple really.
