Deadbat, you know I'm a big fan. As we've been away lately I've read your reports out to my wife as I read them. She pointed out you do repeat yourself a lot and say the same things in the intro, the report, the summary, and then sometimes in the player ratings. Although I'd never realised that, I must say it is so and maybe you can save yourself time and effort. Please regard this as constructive criticism!!
it's because he comes back from the boozer and bangs them in.. he's not a pro so you're constructive criticism is moot

Good report Deadbat and as always and I think you called it just about right and this time how we often got to the final third and edge of the box then didn't quite know what to do with the ball. I wish they'd work on this a bit more on the training pitch and also with our midfield triad who didn't have a shot on target as far as I remember, then puts too much pressure on our forwards to do the business. One thing I noticed is apart for our goal we kept playing high balls to Hanson but often didn't have players close enough to him to pick up the crumbs, especially second half.

We also have this persistent issue of our forwards just standing like staues and not making runs or space when our midfield have the ball and so we then always tend to do the same thing and work it down the flanks and across the front of the box. The final ball hitting first man, sailing into the crowd, or going somewhere where its not a threat then doesn't help either, another one for the training ground. As per recent previous games, lots of possession but little end result, something we need to try and fix if the trailing pack do better.

I look forward to your reports, its nice to hear someone call a spade a spade.

Referee – Mike Jones. Awful. He behaved like a total egomaniac. Blowing his whistle, stopping the game, talking to people for no reason for periods. Then he may aswell have not been on the field as players were clattering each other. He had no control of the game from start to finish. He got the two yellows right but for me should have been harsher earlier on with a very crude Scunthorpe side. How we ended up with as may yellows (well 4 to 4 and then they had an extra for the red) was bewildering.

Crooks did a horrible tackle first half and did not even get booked! Wright was clouted off the ball from Madden and Van Veen also was wildly late on a tackle. He missed a few from us today also, I felt Basham made two great tackles but another was dangerous. He truly was useless.

The one on Coutts summed up how he was. He was desperate to have his say. Instead of just asking him to leave the field he booked him. Never seen that before I do not think or not for a long time! Then when one of their players was a yard from the line he did nothing.

Totally inconsistent from start to finish in everything he did. He gave fouls no one else saw but waved away cynical stuff and some dangerous stuff (both ways – I felt Basham and Freeman both went in dangerously to give things some balance).

It was really odd to watch a seemingly experience and highly rated referee seem like a rabbit in headlights as the game continued to lose control! He went through periods of blowing every few seconds or giving yellows for nothing to letting awful things go. He sometimes wanted a free kick or throw from just the right spot but then other times you could take it wherever you wanted. He was hopeless. An utter buffoon. I was sick of the sight of him constantly wanting to chip in with his say or tell a player what he had just done. If that is the standard of Premier League refereeing then maybe we should stop moaning about some of the League One characters we see!

Just about in agreement Deaders. Have to say the quote above is a bit verbose.

"Referee - Mike Jones. Clueless Cunt."

That would've sufficed. Didn't need any further justification.
