under 23s battered Notts Forest last night 5 0

Jake Wright Jnr with 4 and Norrington with 1. All in the first half.

Caruthers outstanding and to be fair the whole team were a credit ........

Team. Eastwood, Graham, Heneghan, Semple, Norrington, Dougherty, Caruthers, Gilmour, Colville, Wright, Smith.

Great result puts us right back in the mix with the Bastards losing at Leeds, who’s Coalville anyone RWB I’m quessing? Good on Jake Wright his work rate is second to none and he takes some stick as well as giving some!

I would recommend watching the first 45 mins of this game to help to lift the Hull blues.
On a bitterly cold night at Alfreton this team radiated confidence, skill and goals. The 23s play with high energy and tonight our main striker, Jake Wright Jnr, added another 4 goals. The first was almost a copy of his goal against Leeds. All five goals in the first 45 meant the second half was an exercise in maintaining a clean sheet and this was done with relative ease. The back three in the first half, Graham, Heneghan and Semple contained a lively Forest front line and continued to set up attacks through long and short passes, they have no fear of setting up one, twos with colleagues who are being marked.
The rest of the Forrest tem were poor but the substitutions in the second half did even out the game. We took off Semple, Doherty and Jake Wright, after a bad tackle on him. Stevie Mallon got 30 minutes and he is gradually getting back his confidence.
Short note to Mr. W. Henneghan is playing well and Samir Caruthers had a fine 45. He was running the mid field aggressive, passing well and calling for the ball, I can see why he was brought to the club and could yet make his mark in the first 11. He did do a bit of show boating in the second half that was entertaining but not the way this group play.
Our young players had fine games. Semple continues to provide the ball out of defence and even survived some heavy tackles and Graham looks more comfortable on the right side. Norrington-Davies and the young lad Doherty were always available to press forward and Gilmour and a new face to me , Lucas, supported Caruthers and they dug in to protect their lead in the second half. Ti Smith also played well but tonight Jake W stole the show. he surely must be given a chance at a higher level. If he had played at Hull he would surely have mixed it with their defenders.
No Jordan Hallum last night, he was on the bench. He would have bagged a goal if he had played. Do watch the first 45 if you get the chance, we are the team in purple and black shorts. That strip needs the white shorts.

Yes from Huddersfield.

Not sure why he played unless his contract is up and been told he can leave the Udders.

Played very well once he knew the first thing Binnion wants is full on closing down and 100% work rate.

and Eastwood had to make a few saves which he did with confidence and his kicking was excellent

Was Doherty right wing-back?

You mean Nottingham Forest?

Haha ...... I don’t care
Ha ha didn’t think you would, but I’m here to maintain standards
Weirdly (and as someone who lives in Notts so gets the city/county thing), Forest’s ground is outwith the city in West Bridgford and County’s ground is across the Trent in the city.

Yeah it’s one of the weird and easily forgotten things. Though I can’t remember why... so your point probably explains it
