There'll be nothing like what we need up front available on a free now.

Our best chance would be some random foreign player who an agent puts to us. Maybe we'll see the odd trialist like that.

Id be concerned that any player without a club now has not had a proper pre season. have you seen David Brooks goal for Wales U21 yet? think he could quite well be the option we need for a more advanced role

I think they have to be free agent before the deadline to enable them be picked up by another club on a free. That's probably why Brayfords contract was terminated before Thursday deadline. I am also guessing that the remainder of Brayfords contract would have had to be paid up by SUFC.

It wasn't mutually terminated wasn't it? If so then no compensation to either party.

If Burton paid it up that is wonderful news as saved us over £500k. Not that I doubt you but love confirmation but realise you cannot etc.
 

Looking at the market values that's the laughable thing, no one wants you so to me you are worth fuck all :cool:
 
.Yes point taken .looks like he can only play for one manager good deal for us in the long run ,use that money in jan window on wages and hopefully dont piss about last minute trying get someone in
 
Quincy Owusu Abeyi looked shit hot for Arsenal when he was coming through their youth set up. Hes probably just shit now though, at 31.

At one point Sky Sports did show Brayford to Burton as undisclosed.

Could be a good option, clocks ticking and wage demands must be dropping. Deal until the end of the season is better than none. even a deal until Jan.

As I said above these players haven't had a proper pre season so they are a gamble at least he would be a last 20 minute to see the game out type of player so should be ready from the off. Surprised Warnock hasn't taken him
 
I'll expect a couple of players will get invited to come and train with us in the coming months with a view to signing as cover. Wilder has shown that he's not averse to bringing players in this way. Reece Brown got signed this way last season. Chris Burke and Cameron Stewart had trials too if I remember correctly. Alex Bruce again this season trained with us.
 
Most of those will be free agents because clubs aren't willing to pay extortionate wages for them because they're either too old and past it or absolutely bobbins, we don't want any of them.

Defence - Jan Kirchoff, Marcin Wasilewski, Sebastien Bassong, Kolo Toure, Joleon Lescott.

Midfield - Joe Ledley, Mathieu Flamini, Youssouf Mulumbu.

Attack - Giuseppe Rossi, Rickie Lambert.
 
The problem with this lot is that it would take them probably a month minimum to get up to speed as they've probably not trained properly for a long time and had no pre-season.
 
Injury has ruined Rossi's career unfortunately. Shame as he was becoming one of the best strikers in Europe.

He did his ACL yet again in April - the 5th time it's happened I think. But the first time on his left knee apparently.
