Aston Villa's Ecuador defender Ulises De La Cruz is being linked with a move to the Blades in todays People.

We are still being linked with Nicky Butt too!

Bloody Hell, he's 32.
Another one for a season or so.
We need to find a Van Persie type player, amazing and young.
Just one will do.
If we keep getting the older players fair enough it might make sense financially at first but we need to build for the future at the same time and buying journeymen at the end of there prem career isn't the way to do it.
IMO

Is De La Cruz any good?
Is he at the world cup?

Still don't want Butt, Nyandoro sounds a better option.
According to the daily star he is set to join us.

Blades linked to Villa's World Cup ace Tue, Jun 27 2006 11:05
Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock is set to swoop for out-of-contract Villa full-back Ulises de la Cruz as he looks to strengthen.
Warnock is on the look out for fresh faces to bolster his squad as he plots their Premiership survival and the versatile de la Cruz has come to his attention after some excellent displays for Ecuador at the World Cup before their exit at the hands of England.

His contract at Villa Park does not have too long to run and a move away from the Midlands looks to be on the cards with Warnock apparently keen on his services, north of the border Hearts are also very interested in the player.

Warnock said: "Between us we are covering a lot of the games and continue to do so there are one or two players we are interested in looking at a bit more who are still in the tournament.

"We have made initial enquiries about them and at the end of the tournament the staff and I will get together to discuss whether to take things any further," he told the club's website.

I hope not.
