I get the whole football rivalry aspect and using anything to take the piss out of them. But what is actually embarrassing about Chupa Chups? Am I missing something here?

I've never understood this tbh. My main problem with it was that I felt obliged to boycott chupa chups for years and I really like them.

I suppose that could be the reason and it’s carried on from then to always be deemed as an embarrassing sponsor.

I’ve just googled it and when they had Chupa Chups from 2000-03, we had Midas Games and Desun. So I don’t think we were really in a position to be taking the piss! They aren’t exactly blue chip companies either!

Let's face it it's still not as bad as "chansiri" on the front.

For me...the most important factor of a shirt sponsor is colour.
So I'm quite happy the it's a red cat for the home short, a green cat for the away shirt and no cat for the cream 3rd kit shirt.
The worse for me was blue HFS loans logo followed by the purple Midas games logo.

The waving cat logo is pretty eye catching and memorable (possibly for the wrong reasons, although it's better than SWFC's "Euyup" flat cap logo)
but I like the wackiness of it....reminds me of Evisu, remember them? the Japanese style clothing designer company.
They'd charge you at least £90 for a basic T-shirt with a transfer of that cat logo on the front ha ha.

I also like how I've seen cartoons on FB of our players celebrating with a cat, artistic and funny, maybe it will catch on and open us up to a new audience. Think it's clever to have an animal character as your company logo, not seen much of Captn Blade a lately, maybe the cat will replace him?

Also I like the idea that when buying a shirt then the sponsor is optional, so not sure how anyone can complain really.

I don’t get what the issue with Ramsdens was, it’s a very basic sponsor and didn’t even have a logo. There wasn’t anything to dislike was there?!?

Yep, it's little cringey, but I don't mind the Maneki one (despite what the company actually does.) It's a lucky cat in red and white - fair enough. We've had far worse, many mentioned in this thread.
