UEFA C Licence Coach Vlog! Level 2!
As i am bored, i thought i would just watched this video... wow, this guy is something else. So lets humnour him (or you
LoudmouthBFC if this is you)
Despite him trying to be hillarious, without even getting onto the L1 funny scale, i am not sure what the video is designed to do... Vlogger on a coaching qualification, great, but if people were looking on Youtube for an insight into obtaining a coaching licence, then i don't think that this video would be where i'd make my decision... in fact if there are people on the course like this guy, its perhaps a good reason not to get into coaching
Watching the video, one thing is really clear. This guy lacks a fundemental understanding on both the coaching licence itself and the structure of how the UEFA and National members work/ interact.
But also his comments show a real lack of dedication and desire to become a coach
He mentions that because of the way the licence course is structured might be the reason why England haven't won anything since 1966...
As it's a UEFA Licence, I had a quick look.
"These licences are issued by member associations whose courses must meet UEFA criteria and standards, which are regularly revised and updated as the game develops."
Quite clearly, UEFA allow the national members to design their own courses, working within a framework set by UEFA.... And since many European nations have won things since 66 then i'd guess that the Coaching C licence isn't the problem.
Fitness - There are specific courses and training on Fitness, this is a coaching licence. Presumably they focus on setting out coaching the football side and leave the fitness side completely separate. I'd agree with this. Fitness can be built during coached sessions and high intensity games, but the base fitness programme for any player would be separate to coaching.
He talks about how the coaching licence is similar to learning to drive. You get the licence by meeting the criteria, then you go away and work in your own way. Again, through my experience in professional life, this is how most Professional development, professional certificates/ licences work. The licence is a demonstration that you as an individual have met the criteria that they have laid out. It doesn't make you a good coach.
There seems to be a major confusion as to what his role is. He's clearly a sunday league coach and wanted to better himself by taking this course, for whatever reason. However, he has really clouded things by ranting about how he doesn't coach anyone under 18 and the trials and tribulations of managing sunday league players. Players that play the game for fun and enjoyment.
I finished watching the video and my initial thoughts were that this guy doesn't need further training to tick the next box in the UEFA Coaching licence suite, but that he probably needs to get himself better trained in handling himself and other people.
Extremely opinionated on life, unable to motivate amateur players to turn up on a sunday to pay the money and play the game...He's clearly unable to attract players to join his team. If i were still playing football, I wouldn't want to play for this guy and ironically he perhaps highlights that there are many characters in the world, some become coaches when really they don't have the personality to deal with people...
As i said, he lacks a basic understanding of the intended purpose of the course.
