After last nights events, i thought i should mention the 23s are at The Lane tomorrow, 2pm KO.

This will be a tough tough match as there will be no first team squad players involved.

All scholars playing for united, similar to youth cup team i would imagine. Reading spend a lot on their 23s squad so it really will be a hard 90mins.

**bump**

No Blades game on Saturday thanks to Sky running the world, and I don't fancy Chrimmy shopping, so I'll be going along to this. Interested to see how Brooks, Whiteman and Reed are coming along.

Free admission to season ticket holders. :)

UTB.

They're doing fine downing some Guinness !!

I might go down myself. Then I can pick up my Bury ticket from the box office since the tinpot wankers don't provide duplicates for posting.

What a top performance against a very good Reading out fit.
I hope anyone who was there will back my opinion on this.
They were fantastic from back to front. Working so hard, solid tackles, headers and really good football.

Warhurst a 1st year scholar in net was excellent. Dropped a couple but saved a penalty and overall greasy.

Cummings, Graham, Semple, Kelly were outstanding at the back. Well drilled, strong and marshalled the back line really well.

Gilmoor excellent, Slater a bit quiet to be honest, a trialist called Trani ( dodgy name) but was a top player.

Jake Wright a right handful, Hallam quiet again and Croft excellent.

Robbed in the end with the ref giving Reading a dubious free kick to equalise and missed a clear united penalty in the last minute.

Great performance with basically a youth team playing.

Really enjoyed the game and very unlucky not to have won.

Might be a good idea to have a word in his ear and tell him to have a wash ;):D

I thought we were brilliant first half. The work rate and high press was more than Reading could handle, though their insistence on total football from the goalie and back four was a bit daft and we kept on catching them out.

It was inevitable that Reading would come back into it as our energy expenditure was unsustainable, but our two centre halves stayed strong, and the midfield helped out.

Our goalie looked like a young'un to me, though he saved the penalty well and wasn't to blame for their goals. Just a couple of slips from him so he should be happy. Wright put a shift in and was in the wars a bit - looked thoroughly grumpy most of the time.

Trani the trialist was the standout footballer - his ability to carry the ball in tight spaces was great, though he did concede the penalty needlessly and tired after half time. Terrible topknot by the way...

I thought the free kick they equalised from was dubious, but credit the taker - it was in all the way. Harsh on United, but I don't begrudge Reading - they have some good players and were strong second half. I especially liked the left back whom we couldn't touch for pace.

Very enjoyable game.

What position did Trani play, how old is he?

Trani from the Nike akademy nice balanced baller held his position really well and I'm sure the lad will get a extended trial .shame the young lads tired .game of two half's really .

larkymasher or anyone else... What sort of side do you expect us to put out tomorrow at Stocksbridge?

I have a feeling Ricky we may see a few first team squad players ...
Fully expect to see Wilson, Reed, Whiteman and Brooke's but also maybe more. Hussey has not played much either has Brown.

It was a really physically hard game for the young players on Saturday so I expect maybe Semple, Jake Wright Jnr to play but not sure about the other young lads.

I could be totally wrong and it is treated as a first team game !!

Cheers. Might go and watch. I assume Trani and Skapetis will be involved too. Both seem like promising trialists.
