Lost 3-0 to Crewe.

To be honest it wasn't a 3-0 game for me. They took their chances (one was a pen) and United missed a few.

Dimaio hit the bar and was probably our best player, although Whiteman and Hamilton also looked good in parts. No sign of Collins and the only other 'first teamer' was Kieran Wallace, who I thought was a little disappointing.

It mirrored the first team, lots of possession, couldn't create any clear chances though, and Crewe didn't have to work for their goals.

I rather enjoyed the recording of it mate, it made that day a bit better, we need more things like that when the chips are down

I was hoping to see Dominic Calvert-Lewin so maybe he is in the 1st team squad for Saturday. I left the match after a hour as I didnt enjoy it as much as I did in our early Academy years (Tonge, Sharp, Forte, Ross etc). Not criticising our youth set up, we wont be able to take advantage of the EPPP until we are in the PL. Tonight I didnt see enough from any of our players to command a regular place in the 1st team

Surprised to see that John Dungworth is back as one of our youth coach and he looks the same as he was 25 years ago.

It was good to see 77 year old Brian who still makes his own match reports (from the 1980s I think) for his collection at home. He says tonight's match is his 69th Blades match of any level this season. Top Blade!

Also saw this stocky elderly man (bald- his remaining hair used to be ginger) on the first row behind the directors box. He is always shaking his head, throws his arms up and muttering to himself when one of our players make a mistake. He was always in the same row and moaning a lot in reserves matches over 20 years ago! Quite a character!
