Boston United winger Tyrone Kirk has gone on trial at Championship side Sheffield United, less than three weeks after joining from Stamford.

Kirk, 23, signed a one-year deal with Boston but has yet to play for them.

Joint-manager Rob Scott told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "You can't deny him that opportunity but we'll get him in over the next few games and see where he is.

"The lads who have come in are probably ahead of him now so he needs to get on board for the new season."

Another Dave Bassett bargain special he was!

Apparently he trained with us several times last year but the stamford manager would not let him take part in our reserve games.

When he signed for boston they were told he would have a trial with us first I believe.
