Typical Warnock

Thing is Wednesday couldn't have had a better time to play Huddersfield. They're certainly lacking in form.

Funny video and its nice to see Neil regain his senses! I still like Warnock but its hard to forget:

"Would me taking over at Wednesday be a possibility? Of course it's a possibility, why not?

'A job's a job and if you need a job you need a job.'

'Supporters forget things very quickly when their club is winning games.'

And they're now without their first choice GK. The pigs always seem to have bits of luck when it comes to the crunch games. Twats!
I reckon they'll be more pleased at facing Udders in the semi, I know I would be if I was a fowl. Reading have dicked them this season and Fulham do have a good squad. It's going to be a tight affair in the Champ play offs this season. There really isn't a stand out winner for me. Unfortunately the grunters have a really good chance this season.

Was that the same time when he said that he would love to manage them so he could relegate them...

Fair play to him

We'll have to agree to disagree here I think. Yes its a profession but Warnock's reputation is good enough that he could take virtually any job in the Championship after he'd done so well with us. For some reason he wanted to manage Wednesday.

And since you mentioned that quote it was always just banter and something to make United fans laugh and think he's a Blade etc. He did his best to say it was just a joke when he wated the Wednesday job again in 2013. See below:

It didn’t help when the papers and Sky dug up an interview I did in a magazine when I was at Sheffield United. When asked what I would do if I ever became Wednesday manager I said I’d buy bad players, adding “the current lot would do”, get them relegated and then retire to Cornwall and drive my tractor.

What was not mentioned was the context. It was at a function before a Steel City derby when I was sitting with Wednesday goalkeeper Kevin Pressman and some of his team-mates. It was part of the banter and they all laughed when I said that. Of course, it ruins the story if you mention that.

And in the same article
:

So Milan was knocking at an open door. I was also encouraged by how many Wednesday fans, once the news broke that I was a contender, were in favour of me coming in. It was about 60-70 per cent. I’m not kidding myself they suddenly liked me, but they thought I would keep their club up.

Don't get me wrong Swiss Blade. I'll always like Warnock and rate him. But don't give it the 100% Blade stuff when you want to manage them after he's managed us too. I know I wouldn't want to manage Wednesday and at the same time ruin my relationship with United fans too, the club he says he supports.

He's practically begged for it since then as well.

Has anyone ever said that Warnock is a "100% blade " or the biggest blade in the world ? We were his boyhood team he came here as manager did a good job ,got sacked and replaced by Bryan fucking Robson
He can do as he pleases as far as other clubs go I couldn't give a shit,I'd much rather have the guy we've got now than him anyroad
Think it will be interesting to see the games between us and Cardiff next season

Whether you agree with his principles, he was willing to consider any job. Not what you or I would do, but sometimes when you need to keep working you can't be that choosy. The fact that he's not managed Wednesday could be taken many ways. Perhaps he was touting himself to the footballing world.

Warnock's reputation may well be good, but his personality and style of play doesn't always endear himself to clubs or fans

True his personality is part of the problem but I still think his profile was and is decent enough to not need to go for the Wednesday job. I wouldn't tout myself for another job by associating myself with the Wednesday job but as you say he's not you or I - a fan, whatever he says. He doesn't help himself with his inconsistent approach but that maybe because he gets taken with the mood depending on the crowd.

That happened to them in the playoff final against us, made no difference.

Huddersfield manager has played it a bit canny.

All rested, no new injuries and will regroup ready for the pigs. Form means nothing for the play offs when you have been resting players and changing formations knowing you are there and the autos are gone.

I like the Udders manager, done a good job on a fraction of the budget of the teams surrounding him. I fancy them to knock the piggies out.

He played more or less a full strength side today and has lost his GK. They have obviously had pressure put on them by the authorities. Twats!

Their first choice keeper Danny Ward is going to be even more well-rested now he's suspended for the first leg.

Form might go out of the window in the playoffs, but there's also something to the notion that winning is a habit and that maintaining a winning mentality is important. It's tough to turn that on and off at will, even if a large chunk of the team were rested.

Wasn't sacked.
