I'm fully expecting him to finish as the divisions top scorer

Two good finishes that’s for certain, let’s see if he can continue for the rest of the season. We obviously feel there’s some potential there so let’s see if it develops

I read the thread on the Donny forum, and one poster mentioned his contract is up at the end of the year, and a good chance he'll sign for them all being well...Not sure about the contract, but i'd be looking to keep him and loan him out again,as he looks another good prospect if he keeps progressing.

He initially signed a 2 year deal when he turned professional in summer 2017, so contract up this summer unless there’s been an unreported extension to it https://www.sufc.co.uk/news/2017/march/young-duo-sign/

I’d be surprised if we weren’t looking to extend that – accelerating his development by recalling him and sending him out again two levels up would suggest we’ve got an eye on the long term for him.

From what I know he signed a two year deal in 2017 with a further year option.

I would assume the club will activate that option.

Although from comments from CW he feels players could leave permanently with SUFC having first dibs on buying them back or a healthy sell on clause.

It all boils down to whether the club want to invest in 20, 21 year olds who maybe still a year or so away from the first team.

You would extend anyway to get a better fee and a decent sell on clause in there.

Hi everyone haven’t been back on yet to congratulate you on your promotion but well done you must be buzzing for the season ahead. What’s Tyler like?

You have got yourselves a very good prospect with Tyler, hopefully he plays a lot and does well.

Got a donny pal who goes home and away every week not missed a game since 1999 so he’s seen a few and said after the first couple of games tyler went missing for long periods of game or didn’t seem interested

I think that’s a little harsh tbh. I also imagine that the loan will have been a good intro for him to the standard needed to play regularly at that level. His inability to nail down a starting role at Donny in his first loan at that level shouldn’t be an indicator of how he might get on this year – he’s 20, and still improving.

A bit like if Woodburn is loaned to the Championship this season I imagine he’d have a much more successful time having had the less successful experience with us last season.

I do wonder if this lad will follow in the steps of Sharp... on loan whilst we're up in the top flight, and then returns later on to the Blades after successful periods elsewhere. Still plenty to come from this lad, but the time is now for him, if he can put away 10-15 at L1 level, it will do him big favours for his future at bdtbl

Big move for him. It’s an opportunity to establish himself at L1 level. If he does that he’s very likely to make a living playing football. If he does well and stands out, it’s an opportunity to make a living playing for us.
