First goal

Henderson plays it out to our left but there's nothing doing, so it goes back to him, Freeman threads a 20 yard eye-of-the-needle pass up the line to Duffy who moves infield away from two players, and then nutmegs a pass to Fleck, Fleck out wide to McGoldrick, McGoldrick in to Billy, one-two off the keeper and he prods in the rebound.

Second Goal

Enda has the ball out wide, Billy literally puts his hand up, Enda motions to cross but decides against it, it's not on, Billy drifts back post, away from his marker, now there's a space for Enda to hit, but the timing, pace, direction and trajectory have to be precise, it's a pinpoint cross, and Billy heads it sharply down into the corner.

Not for the first time this season it takes two or three or more watches to appreciate just how good some of our football is.

Coutts, Freeman and Norwood involved in the second, as well.

I hadn't noticed Billy's push in real time, live, until I saw a replay,

Enda's cross was perfect. Shape, pace, height. Mulgrew just watched it.

Have we ever sscored so many goals from in and around the six yard boX this team has the ability to do it.
Even going bback to the Currie and Woody days I don't recall so many of these types of goals. They are sometimes called scruffy goals but to win things they are very important.
Scoring worldies as the pigs are at present doasnt last as teams do close players down who can score these. They have there place in a successful team but close in and scruffy goals tend to be the bread and to a successful team. Long may it continue playing players in and around the box is very exciting to watch, not forgetting the worldies of course we could do with a few more of those they can build you a platform to build from.

I can still remember talking to my partners teenage son at the time when Arsenal were winning the League and playing probably the best football this country has ever seen.

We were watching them dismantle somebody or other and I said "Look at every Arsenal player when they receive the ball, they control it, look around, move with it, look again, and if nothings on they hold onto it. If they come under pressure and nothing is on they give a simple pass to a team mate, they NEVER play a hopeful ball, and they never release it until something definite is on"

I then said, "Now look at our players, the ball comes out of the sky, our player has twenty yards of space all around him and he heads it back up in the air again, either that or he swings his boot shoulder height to volley it back up the field because he isn't composed enough to wait for it to come down"

We're a long way from that Arsenal side, but at least we're using our brains to play the game nowadays
