Two (sort of) positives today

1. Last season we were poor in opening games and we lost them all. This season we have mostly looked poor but are unbeaten
2. Norrington-Davies has looked like the player he was in both games I have seen him this season and was a threat on the left. He's had an awful time of it and I'm glad he has started so well.
I'm worried though that we look like we could be in a relegation battle. We can't keep possession, we're slow and creating little.

We're still 2 players short of the finished team. That's the new signings coming in.plus BBD and Phillips coming in. I expect we'll be much better with those changes. So I expect better after the international break. We've just had two draws away from home which isn't too bad.

The only positive from today, is that it may help the current owners move the club on quicker?

3 - Kalvin Phillips remembers how to play football.

We looked a lot more solid when he came on and he gave us a bit of bite snapping into them and not letting them just walk through midfield like the first half.
Are we sure this is allowed though, if so can some fucker point it out to Frank Gallagher in middle of park. I’ve seen more contact in a game of snakes and ladders than first half of today. Terrible

The three sides we’ve played against have also not lost so far this season so it’s not like we’ve been playing against absolute dross.

It’s a positive!

Any potential buyers who know anything about football would see that performance and run a mile. We need 20 new players and a manager who's methods belong in this century

Or we need potential buyers who know hee-haw about football.
Oh, wait a minute, we’ve already got those haven’t we.

The football under Wilder for the last 3 years he’s been in charge has been offensively bad. Really bad. Pissed-up-overweight-Sunday-league-players-on-a-dogshit-covered-pitch-playing-with-a-flat-ball -bad.

Strange game in a way, as you could say that both halves highlighted our issues so far this season.

1st half, we went more attacking which got us our goals and a few more chances, but it left us wide open at the back, which cost us 2 goals.

That won't have been helped by having a young, relatively inexperienced backline without a proper CDM who can screen and protect them, which Rothwell cannot do.

Ideally, we should have played Jairo alongside Peck rather than Rothwell, as protecting the defence is his strength.

2nd half, we prioritised defending which killed our attacking threat, so we couldn't go and try to win the game.

Hopefully, having an actual RB who is fit to play (Drameh) and some leadership and experience at the back (Worrall) would allow us to attack like we did in the 1st half without being so open at the back.

Hopefully Drameh and Worrall are signed in time for Bolton, and if they are I would line up like this.

----------------------Cooper
Drameh-Tanganga*-Worrall-McCallum*
------------Reidewald-----------Peck*
Donovan---------------------------------------BBD
Bamford*------------Cannon

Tanganga*/McGuinness
McCallum*/RND
Peck*/Arblaster
Bamford*/Campbell or new ST

On paper, that is a strong enough defence which should allow us to play a bit more attacking without our defence being so exposed.
