The subsequent turnaround the following season was fantastic, if not ultimately coming up short in the end.
Context: I expected nothing from us. I feared we'd fall again, as Luton did.
Wilder made us resolute, competitive, after a season of getting our arses handed to us, and after diabolical, inexcusable squad planning from The Prince.
The size of that achievement (whilst without the final prize) cannot be overlooked. It's just so sad that we're not there or thereabouts again, because our medium term competitiveness right now, looks limited as finances stand to dip and squad quality will surely reduce.
