1. Send Berge on a training course to learn
A. Physical contact is part of football
B. How to challenge for a header when you are only 6'5"

2. Lock Osborne in the dungeon under the Kop + feed him growth hormones imported from Russia

In fact , I haven't seen much of Osborne recently ...

I've often thought Berge could be Basham's long term replacement. Comfortable on the ball, able to travel with it and carry it out of defence.

Only problem I see is his heading ability - so, quite a big problem

Ridiculous that were light at CB so long after JOC got injured. Loan out Freeman, Stevens and one of McBurnie/Moose to free up wages then get a Prem youngster or decent free agent unless Davies is returning to the fold properly. Given the uncertainty surrounding him, might be sensible to ask Liverpool for Williams.

and tackling, he's very soft in the tackle and for a big lad he's not very strong ... Bash's booking at Wolves a good example of this

PH: Hello Sander, now I know you were playing as a centre midfielder in the Champions League a few years ago, but we've decided you'd made a decent centre half in the Championship.

SB: Ok gaffer I'll give it a try.

Sander walks out of the manager's office and reaches for his phone complete with Balenciaga phone cover and calls his agent......

SB: The silly dingle bastard thinks I'm staying here and playing centre back, get me a move NOW!

SB's Agent: Sorry pal, you're that powderpuff no one wants you anymore, get your head down and have a few decent games at centre half and I'll give that Chrisseh Widler a ring in the summer.

Sander trudges back to his house and regrets his move to Sheffield even more than he did 5 minutes earlier.

We've no strong athletic presence who can dominate his opposite number in any part of our line-up.
What did Mester Wilder say when he popped out to the shops ?
"I'm looking for pace , power & athleticism".
He must have forgotten his specs.
It is quite lamentable that we've ended up in this situation.
Even the last minute CB loanee Davies is built like a lollipop stick and now he's disappeared off the scene altogether (for good reason I accept but can't Liverpool bear that loss instead of us ?).
We are gonna get some tonkings in February if we don't get some muscle through the door this week.
We've gone from what lazy journalists called a physical side in 2019 to one which gets knocked off the ball by a puff of wind.

Yep it's a big problem. We have the ball players but not the spine.

If you're looking for someone who can't win a header, doesn't want to tackle, doesn't want the ball, doesn't want to dribble and doesn't want to beat a man i.e. all the things Basham is excellent at.

Then yeah, good shout 🤣

i clicked this in hope of news. We need at least 1 CB through the door, plus a nasty CM.

But we don't seem to be linked with anyone with 5 days to go. It doesn't bode well if we go with what we have

Pace, power and athleticism you say ?

Berge, Bashams replacement.......😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂oh my ribs!!😂😂😂😂

Tafazolli at Wycombe would have been a decent shout.

We get a decent stopper at the back with height and presence and we are back in the mix for the play offs. Luton almost scored first against us on Saturday. Ball in the middle and a header. Who would have though it. Its been our achilles heel for a few years now and it's bewildering why no one seems to want to rectify it.

Perhaps the third option, is to actually invest in 2 PL quality CBs that know our way of playing. We remain 7 points off the autos if we win the games in hand . £50k a week for 16 weeks x 2 will cost £1.6m. With the reward in a weak division of £170m when we return to the PL, some banks would accept such a risk.

I think you are mixing us up with a club that has ambition. Our Board doesn't give a toss any more.

Ryan Tafazolli? We tried to sign him in 2016 but he chose to go to Peterborough instead. I believe, but could be wrong, that he had a dig at us and he fully admitted he'd gone there for the money.

Personally, I don't think he's ever been good enough for this level and he certainly isn't now.

I doubt we could find 2 quality PL CBs on £50k pw who know the way we play, would want to play for us and would be surplus from their team's requirements and their club was willing to let us have them for just covering their wages in Football Manager.

Plus, we already have one of them, are we dropping Bash and Egan?

It's going to be a loan and my money is on one of the Liverpool lads
