How's that going to work when the linesman on one side says offside and the other says not? Ref can't decide either way as they can't possibly judge offside from the middle.

One is the ‘line judge’. They move up and down with the play and decide throw ins. The other is the offside judge, they stay near the goal and award offsides.

I feel the true purpose of VAR is to get the game more recognised in the states. That 4 minute period yesterday afternoon, would have been a perfect excuse for a few adverts.

Let's face it, the real reason "soccer" isn't as big over the pond is the lack of potential breaks to show a commercial or two.

I really hadn’t thought about that, the crafty devils. Having said that, I don’t recall any adverts during the VAR farce from where I saw the game, which was an American channel.

Just make it up like they do now.

Also the liner who's not sure will wait for the other to flag, then he'll just copy.

Liners copy the ref now for a throwin if they're not sure.

Ref gives the throwing and his useless little helper flag's the same way, been doing all their careers.

Just leave the game ALONE FFS , yes refs make mistakes but the was part of the game , moaning about the ref , Goals been scored everyone celebrating waiting for 3 to 4 mins goals been then cancelled , you go from elation to on the floor, its a load of bollocks .

The linesman yesterday may as well stayed at home seeing as VAR basically made him redundant!
He was perfectly positioned, didn't give offside, for obvious reasons, yet some twat looking at a screen and playing with lines on his computer says no goal!

The majority of fans in the crowd have a phone. They should ask all the supporters to text their view 'Yes' or 'No' to offside.

This allows the supporters to feel included with the process.

Most of the Spurs supporters seem to feel VAR got it wrong so I am sure this would prove to be a suitable alternative.
