Agree with this. Under Clough we'd have sat back, offered sod all going forward & still got spanked. At least with Adkins there is attacking intent! Of course it's going to leave us exposed at times, but more often than not, I think his philosophy will win us more games than it costs us purely as I think we have the squad to do it!

Long way to go yet mind & I do feel we could use a couple more players (a temporary left back will do me nicely for the time being), but once everyone's back fit, I seriously think we're going to take some stopping.

At 1-1 I would've actually taken a draw because the penalty got us out of jail and but for that I couldn't see us scoring. That doesn't mean I'd want the manager to try and shut up shop because it simply isn't the way we should go about it at home in this league but his positivity probably played it's part in costing us the game although substituting Woolford instead of Sammon was probably the worst decision.

It's hard to be too positive with Basham and Reed/K Wallace in central midfield. No goals and very little possession keeping ability. We do need those injured players back, even Harris would make a big difference to our attacking game. He'll seem like Roberto Carlos when he's back after suffering watching McEveley all season.

One of the most refreshing aspect of Adkins' management is the refusal to hold for a draw. Sure, it can go wrong (like yesterday) but I think it's the way to get out of this league.

Couldn't agree more, it's certainly refreshing. Will this philosophy get us promoted? who can tell. But I'm happy for the manager to start the season with this mindset and see how it goes.
