We are spread far and wide but in troubled times it’s always reassuring to have somewhere to come where you can be yourself and chat about United. But not just United, what United has always been, a family club.

There have been folk who have struggled at times with sadness and losses and I can’t help but feel venturing into some of the threads that this place has helped get some through difficult times by finding perhaps a sympathetic ear when they needed one or just a chance of escape when other daily life was getting too much.

So thanks to Foxy and Linz for keeping this place so open, inviting and ship shape. For Blades like myself, who don’t get to the Sceptered Isle so often it’s been great to remain in touch just as if I was back home in a local Pub chewing the fat with close friends.

From my perspective, most blades know me . Didn't miss a match in years and years anywhere.
Moved away from sheffield around 7 years ago, found it tough at first but I love it where I am . The people here mostly all know me and I've created a new life.
I've worked my way up to management in my job but mostly I support a charity called hope. It feeds homeless people and supports those who have fell on hard times. I give talks and I raise money to feed these people as I have been there myself.
I honestly couldn't wish for any happier times. It takes hitting rock bottom to make you stronger.
Today I will be thinking of all my good mates over 50 years at the lane.
