I thought he was excellent against Swindon. I hardly noticed him, which I took as a good thing. What now then? Does Howard automatically come straight back in?

Thought he was excellent too. I figure NC agrees, hence Long out to get more experience, Turner as a very capable back-up.

Howard has been good too so I might be inclined to play him against some of our seemingly weaker teams just in case anything should happen on the run in. We surely have to cover every base this time around.

Thought he was woeful in the first half should have cost us a goal but improved significantly in the second.
Howard should come straight back in.

I thought he did well on Saturday, no problem with him starting again.

Not sure I agree he was woeful, the several scrambles around our goal were as a result of Swindon's inability to convert good chances, leading to said scrambles.

As mentioned above, hardly noticed him

Didn't feel he bossed the six yard box. Couple of times didn't come for crosses very close to him and panicked an untried defence.
I thought he did well and the defence were a lot worse than him and saw it slightly other way . As in he calmed them after their bad start.
oh well Howard in anyway.

How many bloody free kicks do we have to concede ?

I agree. His handling looked dodgy on a couple of occasions and his kicking was shite. He's nowhere near Howard, in my view.

Howard has arguably been our best and most consistent player over the the past 12 months. Was fearing the worst when I saw he wasn't in the squad for Saturday with deadline day looming. He could easily play above league one and we're lucky to have him. God knows why it took so long for him to be first choice, didn't take clough long to figure that one out. Best keeper we've had for a long long time.

Whatever the merits of Howard and Turner we have to start the latter next time we play Preston because we're just spotting them Free Kick goal every time we play them.

I know NC has plenty of players to rotate and adjust according to circumstances. But unless necessary, I think the keeper should be consistent in order to give that assurance at the back. I understand the reserve keeper needs experience, but get that in the reserves. You can afford an outfield player to be rotated and come back in, if they are 99% match sharpness then in all likelihood any mistakes can be rectified. If a keeper makes a mistake, in all likelihood it will be ghastly.
