German national anthem
Sheff United uber alles
Uber alles in Sheffield

I can just imagine this! Everybody in the ground stood singing it one arm in the air in salute to the mighty Blades.
The trouble that Brighton had would be a picnic compared to how this would be received!

Something with a (loose) association to the Blades would be good - maybe Caravan of Love by the Housemartins?

The problem isn't tempo, it's that people omit the rest bars after 'magnet', 'snuff' and 'butty'. If you just plough straight on when singing along to the record you'll skip ahead even at the same tempo.
good point. the point i was failing to make is that we don't sing it like the original as you correctly pointed out

We know all there is to know about the crying game
We've seen it all down at Bramall lane
Had all the hart ache's, cried the odd tear,
that was before ,:Wilder walked throughout the door
and kicked their arse into gear .
Now other teams, play the crying game.
he's made our team play the winning game..

How about the tune of the chorus in " In the living years " ? ( yeh, I know Paul Carrack's a grunter but he's a fucking great song writer )

Possible lyrics :-

Say it loud, say it clear

We're United and we all like beer

Maybe two, maybe three

But a gallon is just right for me

( Dashes off to hide behind sofa )

The original was by Isley Jasper Isley, a spin off band from the legendary Isley Brothers. None of them has disclosed any Bladey leanings.

Wrong again Pinchers old bean.

The younger Isley brother sits near me on the Kop and their dad goes in the Family Stand. He's a right potty mouth when the linesman gets it wrong. Nice lad though and he often passes the Werthers round.

HTH.

When the Isley Brothers played the Fiesta, one of the things they insisted on was that the dates coincided with United being at home and the band getting tickets for the games, the drummer with the band wore a United shirt on stage,

it's a cover version.. we can do what we like with it

The sad fact is we have no musicality whatsoever. Every song; fast, slow or any tempo, is 'sung' at breakneck speed, in a desperate attempt to get to the end, to avoid further embarrassment.

it's probably Basset's fault i expect :) but look on the bright side.. at least we don't have a crappy fucking band

Bramall Lane is in my ears and in my eyes
There playing in the red and white
Chris Wilder's brought us back!

(To the tune of......well actually if you need telling then get off your computer and ask your dad to teach you about music!)

The entire rear section of the Kop is speaking to it's dad right now...

How about (to the tune of Tom Jones' Delilah)

My, my my Donaldo
He'll score at the sty, Donaldo

When some wanted to pay more,
Chris knew he would score, Donaldo

With the pork huffing and puffing,
We'll give them a stuffing
Oh Donaldo

Original if nothing else!

A parody of We Will Rock You by Queen. Everyone banging their seats in time with the drums. Would be an awesome noise

Would have thought_
"There beneath a red and white striped sky." Would have been more Beatles

Although I suppose we could use it on Sunday as " There inside a blue and White striped sty"...?
