Hindsight knee-jerking. It’s the Bladesfans’ Way.
I agree with just about everything you have said on this thread. But can you tell us which clubs' fans forums accept disappointing results (i. e. anything other than a good victory) without significant numbers of the posters over-reacting? If we Bladesfans are such an unusual disgrace, you need to tell us who our role-model could be. Though of course we would need not to doff our caps to them...

Ever since Bouncing Day, Wednesday have been cagey, playing with the intention of not losing. And in spite of what he says about always going out to win games, I think Wilder's tacitly been happy to go along with that, fearing that even if the Owls play badly they have forwards who could win the game. He said as much in his post-match interview.

Still don't understand the lack of Duffy. We've got this far playing a particular style with a particular set of players. If it aint broke then it don't need fixing.
Think it because we have Norwood and now Dowell available in midfield that has given us more choice and maybe muddied the waters for CW. Perhaps I’m am a bit bias because I not sure of Dowell, seems too slow and seems to want too much time and loses possession in dangerous areas. CW obviously want to involve has many of the squad as possible and he has more to chose from and tactically he maybe thinks too much (if that’s possible?) play you best team and If during the game if something’s not working change it.

Taking a step back. 4 points from WBA and Wednesday away. 6 from Boro and Reading.

10/12 points
6 scored
0 conceded

Don't know any on here that wouldn't have taken that outcome even if it meant the points dropped were in the derby.
What a fantastic set of results that is

If any away point "costs us" this season it will be being 3-0 up at Villa with 10 minutes left and only getting a point. That's what you call a proper missed opportunity. Not drawing away from home to your main rivals in horrendous conditions.

You know what's really gonna fuck some people up? We are going to lose from now until the end of the season.

Yes the opportunity of another 100 point season has gone, I'm inconsolable, must be time for a Wilder out protest in the car park ;)

Some prefer to focus on the 2 points dropped, not the 10 points gained - the human condition.

I suspect Saturday will not be as easy as some will presume either.

I agree ,the last three games you've set up like a lower league team looking for a giant killing and we've looked happy to get a replay

It was crying out for us to get our foot on the ball and stroke it about like we know we can, but Madine was upfront so every ball was hit towards him, every time.
I was sat in the pub and two pigs joined our group because there was nowhere else to sit
They asked us what we think about Madine playing before the match started, and I just said his presence will draw United into a direct style that won't suit us.

It's not that we always play direct when Madine is on the pitch, it's just that without time and space in this particular game the only out ball was long to Madine.
With McGoldrick was on the pitch it gives Fleck and Norwood the chance to feed it into the areas he would occupy and it enables Basham, O'Connell, Stevens and Freeman to get forward, it would also have helped Dowell get into the game instead of watching the ball sail over his head time and time again

I actually agree with you Mr Porky. If the pigs came out and played against us he might be a bit more gung ho himself, however the tactic of trying to keep it 0-0 until the 89th minute when danger man Nuhiu can come on and hopefully nick one is a dangerous tactic to play against.

I am of course being a little sarcastic and giving you a little less credit than is deserved because you did have a clearer cut chance than we did, however the pigs setup to stop us playing first and foremost for the 3rd game running, that is despite the fact that they are ‘older, bigger and better’ than the pub team/Barcelona B (please delete according to your current viewpoint on which we are).

I was happy with our line up initially, but we couldn't get Dowell into the game, couldn't play through the press and were hitting it long to Madine far to much, and he wasn't really holding the ball up anyway.
McG made a difference,i was hoping to see Duffy at some point to provide that link which McG did to a point.
Wendy stifled us,stopped us playing...yeah they did come out a bit more than at the Lane, but never played through us...the chance for Hutchinson was on the break after we turned over possession.
I'd be embarrassed if United played to just stop Wendy in a Derby at home..they made it a scrappy game and just hoped to nick one.

It's a YES from me - that's what is disappointing about the 2 points dropped.

We just have to move on and not kill ourselves with a what if.

Too right, I'm not overly upset about the result, just that whenever we are so far ahead of them we can never really drive it home, as an underdog I'd bet on us every single time we play that shower, but as the favourite we just can't seem to get it together

after boxing day results we were 10 points behind Leeds and 7 behind Norwich
As It Stood 11 games ago
Team P GD Pts
1 Leeds 24 20 51
2 Norwich 24 15 48
3 West Brom 24 21 45
4 Sheff Utd 24 11 41
5 Middlesbrough 24 8 39
6 Derby 24 5 39
7 Birmingham 24 10 37
8 QPR 24 -1 37

so dont tell me cant close a 4 and 2 point gap in the last 11 games
And there it is - just look at what has happened to Liverpool. Monday was a real risky one for us, shocking conditions, their cup final and for me, excellent composure from everyone despite a lot of niggly stuff going on, a good point won and none of our key players crocked. The run in will be all about temperament now and I for one would rather be hunting down Leeds and Norwich rather than defending top spot - honestly, it suits our mentality and another point on Satdi will do nicely thanks.

The usual over reaction from some people , it's the Blades way , so many years of let down & false dawns. But we are still in a great position , a point last night wasn't a disaster , though defeat would have been. We can pick it up again and finish the job, I really believe it. That's 4 clean sheets since Villa with 2 winnable home games to come this week. I'm convinced that we will get a result at Leeds , and looking at the remaining fixtures there are games they have where they could slip up. Norwich have a much easier run in & I think they are as good as up . We just have to keep our heads & carry on getting the results for 11 more games .

I'd rather have our April fixtures than the pigs April.
