Who on earth will we have in defence on Tuesday?

It could range from either an ok defence to something bizarre.

Definitely out for Tuesday

Lowton
Maguire
LJF
Williams?

Maybe out on Tuesday

Taylor
Collins
Monty

So best case we have

? Collins Ertl Taylor

Worst case we have

? ? Ertl ?

Debuts for Kennedy and Warren?

Connor Brown could be an option at right back. Someone thought Seamus Conneely had left us, is that definitely the case? Someone also mentioned that Marc Warren left in january, but I've not seen anything official about it.

Why would Taylor not be fit? Just that he has been out for a long time? He looked tired when he came off yesterday, but hopefully he can start. We have no option really. If Collins missed the game for family reasons, then hopefully he will be back.

I'd go with:

Conneely* Ertl Collins Taylor

* potentially Monty, if he is fit.

I heard someone saying that Beattie could play centre half. He'd certainly contribute more there than he has done up top. Cresswell did not do a badly at RB yesterday actually. I say this in jest, but desprate times call for desperate measures.

Even if taylor is fit, then it's likely that he'll not make the full 90 minutes. I put him down as a maybe, as i didn't know the reason he came off.

Didn't realise conneelly was still with us. i thought we'd released him.

Coneeley appears to have played for the reserves on Tuesday at Walsall, as did Brown.

Brown went on loan on Friday for a month to Hinckley it seems

I'm not fully aware of the rules but isn't there a time difference between when a straight red kicks in and two yellows?

I thought the straight red took 1 week to kick in to allow time for appeals etc.

As you can't appeal against two yellows then I believed this kicked in straight away.

Aylor says on twitter he got cramp towardsthe end but is fine.

I will take mi boots just in case im needed. I can see a quick loan from "the dirties", what with Warnock being in charge there, maybe Bromby or another fringe player

There's a clause in the disciplinary handbook about suspensions for sending offs kicking in 21 days after the offence Under 'Standard Charges'

http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/~/media/...D667D44ABC.ashx/Discipline Handbook 11-12.pdf

So we should be alright for tuesday, but both players i think will be missing for the game against Chesterfield?

When the suspensions are announced then it'll be on this page

Ignore all the above.

That doesn't sound right to me. Isn't that handbook just for local amateur football? I thought suspensions kicked in after a week or immediately - but not sure about precise rules.

There's also this pdf on the same site specifically for professional football

It wouldn't be the first time i'm wrong about something :)

From that pdf...

(b) PLAYERS SENT OFF UNDER LAW 12 (7)
A Player who is dismissed from the Field of Play for receiving a second caution in the same
match will be suspended automatically from FTCM commencing forthwith, until such time
as his Club’s First Team has completed its next FTCM

(c) PLAYERS SENT OFF UNDER LAW 12 (4) and (5)
A Player who is dismissed from the Field of Play for denying a goal or an obvious goalscoring
opportunity by physical means or by handling the ball, will be suspended automatically
from FTCM commencing forthwith, until such time as his Club has completed its next FTCM.

So we are fucked for Tuesday after all.

There's absolutely no way that sending offs take 3 weeks to take effect. I thought suspensions after 5 bookings etc kicked in straight away & red cards after a week. But I'm not sure if it makes a difference if it was a straight red as opposed to 2 yellows.

Looked like Taylor just had bad cramp the way the physio was treating him. He's been out ages so cramp would be almost inevitable.

if we are smart we will appeal against one so that we dont miss both at the same time??

We can't appeal Lowton's. The only appeal against yellow cards is mistaken identity. If we appeal Harry's he will almost certainly get 2 games as the appeal would be 'frivolous' - DW has said he has no argument with that one.

is it worth the hit??.. yeah you're probably right actually. The FA would incite the Sheffield United clause and suspend him for ten games just because it's us

cresswell , back in the box , have we learned nothing from saturday

emergency loan , Cahill wasnt getting any match time at Chelsea

He is now though. About as realistic as my comment on another thread about getting Bartley in when Rangers have to let him go tomorrow!

Didn't Morgan say that he could stand in if required during the "run-in" ?

Stand being the word Hodgy

We were talking about Morgs on Sat and it was said that we couldnt see him fitting in to the new bladesway

My dad spoke with Morgs the other day and he is 'going to give it a good shot' (I'm paraphrasing here) and may be around for the end of the season, but reading between the lines it could be we have seen the last of him in a competitive game for the Blades.

got a feeling the back 4 will be Williams,Collins,Ertl,Taylor with one of the kids on the bench as cover. Also think Hoskins will start

Agree with that. DW said when we signed Williams permanently that he had played right back before, so gave us an option there. If all 4 are available, I can't see a youngster getting thrown in for a debut.

Williams is injured isn't he? Heard him on the radio saying he wasn't fit.

Taylor had a good game on Sat-di by the way. Has to be said. Never reated him before, but he looked steady. Made a few decent challenges and one very good header, that saved a goal. Got forward quite well and defended solidly. Could be a decent asset at this level (particularly if JFL is out for a while).
