What bollocks.he played the team that had done so well over the last few games. Taking Billy off also had nothing to do with Tuesday. Purly tactical when Billy had little chance of holding a ball up against, yes world class defenders.
A little more speed was needed so maybe Done earlier but that was a great performance yesterday.
I would have been so pissed off yesterday as a travelling fan who works hard to earn an away game had he not played what most would consider our best line up at the moment.

boo radley we keep hearing from Adkins and Phipps that the squad is too big, we've got 43 professionals at the club etc. The priority was the Cup and its right that he played 'his' strongest team/ favourites, he at least gave them their last chance on the big stage, for players like Coutts, Hammond, Sammon, Collins, Edgar and McEveley then its unlikely they'll get another game like that, even Billy and Basham will probably not play to a crowd like that again.

So all that in mind, he now rolls forward three days and he has to utilise some of the squad players. I'd keep Long in goal but Kierans Freeman and Wallace, Magahey, Che Adams, Woolford, Baxter, Reed all need to get games. For that matter, if James Wallace, Cuvelier, Scougal are anywhere near fit then they need considering. Either get them fitter, put them in the shop window or just get them games, they need to play.

At the same time Adkins needs to make this clear to travelling fans.

Done in for sammon apart, reckon there will be any other changes to keep things fresh Tuesday?

Flynn for woolford and Wallace at left back perhaps?

If Done is fully fit yes.

What winds me up is so many people talking of their pride in the players and singling out individuals for praise

This is the same bunch of wankers that dont bother turning up at least once a month

Games like these just show the application they are capable of and i would expect that around 90 % of games not 60 %

To be fair, the application has been there since Barnsley.
Brayford and Hammond have been hugely infuencial in that run, plus the consistency in team selection.
If we maintain that standard until the end of the season, we'll take some stopping.

To ALL the fans who do not go to the games - the application has been their since "Post Shrewsbury".

Adkins told us all before the season he would evaluate the whole squad - he has done that.
He also told us the squad wasn't good enough - we knew that but so did he.
He also told us he would try and play 4-4-2 and be move adventurous - he has done that and it has generally failed.

Inconsistent performances - since day 1 at Gillingham is because Adkins has experimented - he has done EXACTLY what he said he would do.

It may not be to the liking of fans, but this is Adkins way of preparing for, hopefully, staying at the club longer than previous incumbents.

We SHOULD make the top six, but probably too late for top 2.

I would put my faith in Adkins in a 3 match "cup" competition at season end - we have seen what we are capable of and as we are now playing a more stronger but limited style of football (with what he has available) it is what might get us out.

There is no other way of getting out of this division this season, than the option now chosen by Adkins.

Looking ahead to Tuesday and beyond,I do think NA needs to inject some pace...someone who can run with the ball,as we are always having to work the ball..play one two's to work the space...We also need someone to hold the ball to play up with Billy,as it isn't happening with Sammon..Fair play to NA for making us more solid/robust but still a few tweaks needed as I'm sure he knows...Another concern is we need more goals from midfield.
