I was just walking towards the Sawyers Arms and saw my mates lad outside, so I went over to chat, you could hear the noise from a distance away, just as I got there, he said, "no chance of getting served Phil, it's packed inside", next minute, smoke came pouring out of the door and a red flare suddenly appeared on the window ledge inside. Silly thing to do. After a pub crawl that night (stayed over for the night), we ended up inside the Sawyers and got chatting to the woman who ran it, she said we were the worst fans they have had in years, very rarely trouble like we caused, usually just noisy. She said one lad was literally swinging on the chandelier! Anyway, we chatted about beer, she was very knowledgeable on real ale.
