I once had a dog who went fucking crazy when the post came through the door. She lost all control over herself and ripped all the post to ribbons. Then, after a while, she seemed to regain her composure and, realising what she'd done, would act full of regret and shame. At first I was angry at her, but after some time I understood- she's just a simple minded dog, and cannot help it. I took measures to have the post delivered where she couldn't get to it.

Is this a comparable situation?

To be fair if anyone makes it on the pitch from the BL upper they deserve it.

The big thing here is that the club itself do not want a pitch invasion. (aside from it being illegal and will probably bugger up the Desso)

And you can bet your ass that some twonk will set a flare off on it.

The players and staff want to collect the trophy on a stage on the pitch and show it off to the world, why is it so hard for people respect that ?

If people go on the pitch and the trophy gets presented indoors then there's going to be some ugly scenes!

I understand the pitch invasion at Northampton when we clinched promotion, I was on there myself, but 3 weeks later? What's the point? Just stay in your seat so we can see Billy lift the trophy.

How about before the game and half time they announce that if anyone goes on the pitch the club will voluntarily forfeit 40 points, instantly condemning us to a seventh year in League One and the trophy being rushed over to Lancashire?

I don't understand why they're all allowed to return to the stands in their own time. At the very least the first one on the pitch should be identified at the time and arrested very theatrically in front of everyone.

No they're not. I'm not happy, Billy Sharp isn't happy and Chris Wilder isn't happy. They want to do a lap of the pitch to show their appreciation to the fans and I want to see them do that. It's one thing to be so selfish to spoil it for fellow supporters but to deliberately go against the club's wishes and spoil for the players and staff?

This could well be the only chance to lift a trophy for some time, and some people are absolutely intent on risking us not getting the chance to see it. How stupid can you get?
