Trains are a bit limited to get there in time, anybody know procedure if you have tickets booked in advance for the train and it's packed. Sorry if it's a stupid question but not a frequent train user

From Leeds to Bradford it's unlikely your ticket will be for an allocated train. Think you'll be alright just leaping on the next one if not. It's quite a frequent service so certainly 3+ an hour to either Bradford Interchange or Forster Sq.

Cheers, it's the leg from Sheff to Leeds that's a pain. Booking it for my Brother who is back over from Qatar and obviously doesn't want to be stuck at Sheffield station

No way will the Leeds-Bradford train be packed, you'll have no problems at all. They're very frequent, and 5/6 carriage trains too so shouldn't worry about it. You also want to get the Forster Square train as that station is closer to the ground, and you have the added bonus of not having to walk through Bradford City centre.

.........and you have the added bonus of not having to walk through Bradford City centre.
Don't let this lull you into thinking the walk from Forster Square is a walk through paradise. Bradford is generally a depressing place.

Jesus wept. The usual lazy pre-conceived assumptions about Bradford.

There are some magnificent buildings in Bradford, the locals are also friendly as owt.

Get yourselves up to North Parade after the match..

Sheffield city centre would really benefit with bars like The Record cafe and The Sparrow

Bert has a good friend who is a Bradfordian. She describes it as a "Shit hole", however Bert rather likes the Victorian architecture.

Probably doesn't affect the op, but this info is on the website for those travelling to Bradford.

Important Travel Information

We would request that all Sheffield United fans plan ahead with their travel arrangements for the game at Bradford City because, in addition to the match, the 6th annual Sky Bike Ride event is taking place in the city centre. The roads around the stadium will not be affected by the event and supporters travelling by car are asked to use the Shipley Airedale Road off the M606 and follow any signs to the Coral Windows Stadium.

Free parking is available at the Oastler car park from 9.30am and there are also several other 24-hour car parks available including the St Thomas, Rawson Road, Simmes Street and Wigan Street car parks. More details of the event, including postcodes for these car parks, can be found on the Bradford Council's website.

Fans arriving by coach or by rail will be directed to the stadium by Police officers. The Sky Ride event is a family fun-day which involves the closure of some streets in the city centre. Please avoid the city centre while travelling to the game to avoid any delays.

Oi. I've lived here since I was 4 years old. I'm entitled to slag Bradford off, but you lot had better think of it as paradise! Worth hanging about for a curry afterward though!

North Parade is actually decent now ye. However, if you want to drink in Bradford after 11pm, there's nowhere decent, and therefore don't go in too often.

Everything I know about Bradford I learned from Band of Gold and documentaries about Peter Sutcliffe.

I think Bert must be using the wrong aperture :o
Is Bert also saying that she's built like a brick shit house :o :o

I disagree with those saying Bradford centre is a dump, it has a far better collection of historical buildings than Sheffield. It has it's problems and fair share of no-go areas but some of their architecture is beautiful.
