Took a York player on in a friendly and everyone thought he was going to be the Saka of the championship
Exaggerating.

A fast and tricky 20 year old who scored 12 in 14 games in a Scandinavian top division is why people noticed him.

Traore wasn't a success in the three games he started for us. But s24su users rated him among our better players in each.

He was most often a sub at Nantes, but being a part of a squad (regularly coming on) in a better league than Sweden was surely a decent experience. Nantes have also said they wanted to sign him, i.e. they think he can do well at their level.

Several have noticed him looking stronger and quicker in the glimpses we've seen this summer. At York he did a lot of things well, defensively and offensively. For me he looked like the one most eager to impress, so I wanted to see more of him. We don't have too much pace up front, so it'll be one more thing to put right with new signings.

Maybe the lad from palace on loan, sorry forgotten his name, will be the Traore replacement.

Each to their own, I watched him in every game he played last season and he contributed next to nothing. He then sat on the bench in a poor Ligue 1 and provided nothing apart from one assist & a red card.

Hecky had realised quickly that he wasn’t up to it & Wilder bombed him immediately. He’s miles out his depth in the English game. I don’t see how that changes in the championship notorious for being a physically demanding league.

If we need to raise money to buy players he’d be one i’d be happy to let go

Better post, but I don't have your confidence to write off players like that.

I hope he was given a fresh and objective assessment, a clean slate, this summer.

have to agree just dont think the lad can cut it in the english game better suited abroad if we can get close to our 4m outlay i would sell and bring somebody like riki-saki or fabio carvallhio in

My first post was tongue-in-cheek, I'm sure you knew that. I can only say what I've seen in him, I'd be surprised if he turned it around in the English game. I personally don't think you'll hear or see him again on the big stage.

Basel is a good move for him though, he gets to play in Switzerland's top division in front of 35-40k fans each week. UTB

Nantes wanted to sign him but didn’t exercise the pre agreed option to buy and haven’t come back for him? Makes sense.

Yamal … nowhere near ready for “men’s football” and yet Spain somehow persist in playing him.

Yeah that's right lets compare a one in a million prodigy to our youngsters.

All happy for the youngsters its great a hope they make it, but it a massive gamble, looking ok in preseason friendlies is entirely different to performing week in week out in one of the physically most demanding leagues going. No signing is guaranteed to be a success but getting proven players in is a lot less of one than hoping somehow we've had the most successful batch of youngsters in our history

I don’t disagree, but we have an exciting group of young players and we have dropped a division. O’Hare (who has just got an assist as I type), Moore and the other experienced players can be complemented by a few of the youngsters.

Tbf he was another player dropped in at the deep end last season. He’s not Prem level, so judging him on the is a bit pointless.

I get the feeling he was bought to develop here, but it’s not worked out.

No hard feelings from me it’s just now another player to replace.

Why does Traore need to be replaced, we didn't have him for half of last season and no one was clamouring for him to be replaced then.

Good that a decision was made quickly and he'll be moved on. Compare that with the saga around Coiulibaly, who was never going to be good enough.
