Sorry Chris careful who you tell

25 out 25 in none of them deserve to wear the shirt bar brooks after today

"Chris Wilder" should not be buying anyone. Ever

I’m not sure he’s ever personally got his cheque book out for any of our signings and I agree I don’t think he should be doing so.

Who out of everyone out of contract deserves one next season based on this year?

Could argue baldock but even he is slightly down to nostalgia.

Whoever gets one should be 1 year max and on nowhere near what they're on now.

Problem is new players usually cost a fee, or even a loan fee. That one more year for Fleck or Norwood will be the cheap option.

Nuance may have missed you. Someone whose primary job is to coach the team should not have more than minimal involvement in recruitment of players who, if bought, will be contracted for multiple years after when Wilder's contract expires. Coaching/game planning and recruitment are entirely different skillsets which do not overlap in the slightest, bringing in the best players for Sheffield United in the long term is very different from bringing in the best players for Wilder in the short term

Egan and Bogle are probably the only ones for me. Egan is a solid Championship defender and I do think Bogle has something to offer at that level too.

The rest are either old as fuck, injured or havent done enough this season to make me think they will be good enough for us next season.

Not sure how good this Amissah could be but as it stands we’d be letting three keepers go. Might be worth keeping him as a backup. Happily let the other 2 fuck off.

It was a joke…
(though I admit not a very funny one)

Who at the club would you have involved with recruitment if not the manager?

There will he players cheaper, and younger, than them 2 available on frees, either here or abroad, that will give us more than them next season.

We just accept mediocrity like nobody else at this club because we think they'll come good again. They're done.

Fleck ends up in league 1/Scotland next season and Norwood will be at some middling championship club next season on a last pay day. Preston or West brom or the like

The tea lady would be an improvement. If I was in charge, Wilder's sole responsibility is to get the best out of the players he has available to him in any given match, and to improve the qualities of the players we already have. That is more than a full time job. An entire different set of people should have sole responsibility for identifying potential new acquisitions. Do we have that personnel at the club right now? I don't know, I would guess not given the relative antiquated structure of football operations that appears to be in place.

Why not? If it’s with a view to next season why wouldn’t we want to try and get players in early?

I'm just not sure who we can attract tbh.

Barring journeyman or average championship players.. who would really want to join a sinking ship right now if they're in and around the playoff spots?

13 out minimum! But unfortunately we are fucking skint. This will take a billionaire or 4 transfer windows to sort out. We will be league 1 in 2 years. Pains me!

Is your issue specifically with Wilder being involved with players or managers in general?

Managers in general. Given on average they are employed for less than a year, they will always favour what is in their best interests, rather than what is in the better longer term interests of the club

No idea, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to sign any player that we’ve identified as someone who could improve us though does it.

We won’t be signing anyone for the foreseeable then as we don’t have the right set up.

That one more year extension should not have happened this year for the two grandads. Selling those two with their wages could have brought in 1 athletic player

Not so. Archer, Baldock and McAtee were fine and Hamer, apart from their first goal, was ok.
Souza was very good.
Be critical of players if you wish but at least be fair.
Agree. Trusty, played out of position today. Anel, when he gets a good partner to play next to him (also, don't make him captain, should be Baldock, imho)
