Add Jairo and Patrick to the list and I think thats a very solid window. I think Wilder is clearly getting his squad nucleus and shape in early for next seasons proper go at promotion.

Phillips is the wild card one. If we go on a run now and sneak into the plays off (and he plays a major part of it of course) it will be seen as a master stroke. However, the likelihood now is we will just fall short of top 6, so it would represent a big waste of money.

Who knows, but at least COH have backed the manager. They (rightly so) got pelters for the shenanigans in the summer, so we should at least acknowledge their contribution now.

Snake ?
Are you Bettis in disguise ?
Only joking pal !
Have to agree.
Very decent window.
Lost none of our very marketable talent.
Last roll of the dice on some quality players for our 1% chance of PL.
But more realistically ...
All our young talent on rising trajectories departs for the PL in the summer.
Hopefully for good fees , with which we acquire some more young players with rising trajectories of their own.
That's our business model coz it's the only one available without a sugar daddy.
Hoping that the recruitment & trading is much better summer 26 than summer 25.
Wilder managed it in summer 24 and got 92 points from a standing start , so no reason not to repeat.
Meanwhile we get to enjoy Brooks , Seriki , Blaster , Peck etc playing their hearts out for their PL moves.
Should be a very entertaining 3 months now , so enjoy 😊

I think any summer signings will be looking at where we finish this season, so just outside the top 6 would give a better view of success next year than staying around the middle.

4/10

2 marks for phillips 1 mark for Rothwell, 1 mark for getting rid of some people that should have never been here in the 1st place. (Albeit temporary riddance in most cases)

No gk cover, no defenders of true championship quality, also would have liked to see us get some proper cover for Brooks and Hamer. Would have been OK with letting Campbell go to bring in better also, perhaps we will in the summer.
And you expected all of that to be sorted in the always difficult January transfer window when we got pretty much nothing to play for?

Well I must admit I was completely wrong about Brooks. Until the last couple of months I always thought he flattered to deceive and was mid championship level at best. Now he looks really exciting and with a bit more belief and experience could really push on into a lower prem player. Femi I've always fancied as potentially being a very solid low/middling prem player. It's the question marks around his attitude and injury record that have tempered my view. The one I would look to offload for a decent fee is Burrows. Not scapegoating here because he too has the potential be really improve but I just don't see him as a modern prem player. He's nowhere near good enough at that level as a defender and his attacking qualities are limited too at that level. Don't get me wrong I'd only sell him if a decent offer came in - say £8m plus.

Gus will be off in the summer, so if we could just lose Gus and Burrows and keep the rest of the squad together with a couple of Wilder like tweaks here and there, I reckon top 6 deffo next season with an outside chance of top 2 - depending on whether the relegated prem teams hit the ground running. Unfortunately the 3 that come down will be top quality champ teams next season.

Who knows? - I didn't think Bamford would have much of an impact, but I'm glad to be wrong. We know you can't take other fans' views seriously, since they're played in different positions and formations and have their own personal perceptions, much as we do, so though they are interesting, I'd just wait and see (not diminishing your great work, Roy).
