I agree the hardest thing to take is the feeling that we've been lied to by the board but if Mcabe is trying to sell the club or get investment from elsewhere then the last thing he would do is come out to the public and say that we're skint and we've wasted our cash on worthless assets. The asking price for the Blades would be slashed immediately. You cant always tell it like it is in business and while it might feel wrong to us fans if it is actually protecting the interests of the blades then fair play to him.

I am feeling very optimistic about this season though, the rest of the teams in this league are crap with the exception of Cardiff and QPR so theres still every chance of getting promotion. Everyone just needs to calm down abit, did they really expect us to have signed several world beaters, be playing entertaining flowing football and be winning 6-0 every week after Speeds had 2 games in charge?

Ever heard of the term 'due diligence'?

Yes I have but Im pretty sure a decent accountant would be able to hide the odd thing, move lump sums around etc, I haven't got the foggiest about accounts so I could be completely wrong but from my point of view giving the impression that a company is doing well will make it much more appealing to investors (at least to have a look at, after due diligence they might come to the conclusion it's not worth it but they might not even get to the due diligence stage if the chairman's coming out saying we're badly run and skint) Business is often about putting up a front as a means of getting what you want, companies are often pretending to be much bigger than they actually are to get a job or contract.

Also sponsors wouldn't do due diligence I wouldn't have thought so it would at least be putting them off by coming out and stating that we're skint and going nowhere. As a fan I don't like the getting lied to but I can understand the need for it.

Britton is a defensive midfielder in the same way that Michael Brown was (when he played for us). He's box to box, but sits in front of the back 4 to dictate play. That doesn't make him defensive.

Are you sure you shouldn't be comparing him to McCall instead? Brown made superb runs on and off the ball into the box and was a genuine goal threat while Britton's goal record is worse than Monty's.

I've been really down since the beginning of the season.

I wanted us to give the job to Speed, not because I believed he was the best man for the job, but for the integrity of the club. (Why else refuse him permission to speak to Swansea).

However, since he's taken over, nothing has really changed.... we still got Sam, and all the players that have let us and Blackwell down for years.

So Speed is trying to change our style, but I'm a believer in "horses for courses"...... you cannot make a thoroughbred to jump over hurdles, nor turn a speelchaser into a Derby winner, and same with our players.

I just cannot see where the goals are going to come from!!!!

Then I look at the League table and see that we've already played the top two, and that includes taking the only points off Cardiff, plus we narrowly lost to Boro' thanks (?) to a major blunder by Morgan, who is Mr Dependable, so maybe it's not all doom and gloom.

I'm happy to wait and see what happens over the next half a dozen matches before I finally make up my mind.

Surely you meant half a dozen months?

I've addressed most of those bits in previous posts, so let's have another bunch of hopes:

- let's hope that a section of our support grows up and stops acting like spoilt children
- let's hope that the same group doesn't get so offended when someone disagrees
- let's hope that rather than claiming they speak the 'Truth', they admit to speaking Opinion.
- let's hope they cut out the boring cliches and 'amusing' nicknames that irritate most other supporters who have the slightest semblance of a sense of humour
- let's hope that they realise that no matter how many times they speak the same opinion, it's not going to change the minds of those who disagree

On the button mi owd lad.
