RIP fellow blade, glad you saw the better times returning.

So So sad to hear the news. Had a seat behind me on John Street, we always enjoyed our chats about the old days with many-a-story to share - will be sadly missed R.I.P Jack :/

Bloody hell what a shocker! Had a message from him fairly recently via my wife`s Facebook account. So sad after his missus passed away not that long ago.
Enjoy telling Shred every detail about last season Jack and RIP mate!
As he used to always sign off, UTMBFTO!

RIP Jack
Jesus, Blades of a certain age are dropping like flies

first post but just had to add my condolences to a top blade, I used to travel with Jack in the 80's and 90's on Shreds bus always remembered him for the fact that he wouldn't wear anything blue (even his jeans had to be black) or write using blue ink!! Great days R.I.P Jack

How old was he? I remember him from the 80s and I know he's had a terrible year or so losing people.

Not sure how old he was Davalon. He just doesn't look that old if the photograph of him is fairly recent

He looked in the same age bracket as me from the photograph of him at Blackpool, mid to late 20's at the time

In the Blackpool photo,if silent is right about the year(and he usually is) then I'm 34 and jack was older, nearer 40. Remember he sent me a blades birthday greeting on f/b this year, and he said then that I've got a few years yet before I catch him up. So I'm saying nearer 70 now.

I remember Jack saying in Facebook that he started watching the Blades in the mid 1950s. I think he went to watch the first Blades floodlit match (v Rotherham in March 1954)

Condolences to all who knew him.
