1. The one when we sold Jamie Ward and Leon Britton then sent Kyle Bartley back. We replaced them with Neil Collins, Micheal Doyle and Marcus Bent.

2. The January we sold Blackman and replaced him with Forte and Poleon on loan. We did bring in Jamie Murphy during this window but also Danny Higginbotham and Barry Robson.

3. The David Weir disaster. Brought in the likes of Brandy, McGinty, Johns, Cuelivier and King. To top it off we sold McDonald for about £200,000. Maybe the worst bit of this window in hindsight was The Prince coming on board.

4. Nigel Clough's pre-season one in 2014. Totally failed to build on the momentum of the previous season by failing to secure Coady and bringing in the likes of Higdon, Butler, Wallace, Alcock, McGahey and McEverley. Also sold Maguire.

5. The January one under Adkins. Brought in nobody at all.

What's yours?

Number 3 was dreadful some of the worst players to play for us in 1 window. & who could forget baxter winning September goal of the month by default as we only scored 1 goal for 6 weeks

That was indeed a cracker, topped off by the McDonald sale at the very last minute after an opening day victory..mebbe if Billy fucks off we could top it?

McDonald was the player Weir wanted to build the side around, Billy is not.

In the close season before 2009-10 Blackwell got rid of some dross, but:

1. We sold the Kyles.

2. We signed this lot:

Lee Williamson
Kyle Reid
Leigh Bromby
Andy Taylor
Ched Evans
Ryan France
Glen Little
Jordan Stewart
Jonathon Fortune

Jesus wept. And that's without going into some of our loan deals.

The Blackman sale is one that still gets me foaming at the mouth. I actually started to believe that the owners didn't want promption.

But tbf your whole list shows that this window won't even come close unless we flog JOC and Fleck at the last minute.

Williamson and Bromby weren't bad.

Ryan France was one I hated...purely because I know the guy and always wondered how he got to where he did.

That was Bromby second time around. He played on loan a bit the previous year, came back permanently, and left for Leeds immediately.

Williamson pulled his back in a pre-season friendly. He only managed to play 36 out of 92 games over the next 2 years due to injury and suspension. He only came good in his third year after relegation, like Evans.

Which we probably will. Wilder has said no more permanent signings - which I take it means "IN"

Still slightly pissed off that we did not really go for it in last seasons January transfer window.

Touching distance from the premiership, positivity around the fan base and playing fantastic football. We just just needed a touch of quality to improve starting 11.

Shame really.

Surely the one in 1997-98 January window has to be up there?

Selling Deane and Fjortoft on the same day, ruining what at the start of that season was a very good side.

Technically not a transfer window, as players could be bought and sold across the season, but without doubt the worst period of transfers in modern Blades history.

Hah. Deane, Fjortoft and Taylor.

It's gonna be just Taylor, isn't it? He's just as much said his goodbye.

Fucking dream on.

Proof positive that we aren't a smart club when it comes to transfers. Or at least, identifying good players who may turn a profit down the line. Wilder might have signed some duds, but for the most part, all of the players he has bought in are wanted by other clubs.

Who wanted McGinty?
I need a Brandy.

It's clearly this one that's worst anyway. None others come close.

Where we signed the central defender people were clamouring for.

Where we sold a player with a handful of League starts for 12million and replaced him with a (in all probability) better player for a season at least.

Where we brought in a very highly rated young keeper on loan, got a versatile left footed prospect on a free and another freebie who is a highly rated striker who a few seasons ago was garnering 10million bids.

There are some very short fucking memories in our fanbase.
