Being a bit of an optimist, it seems like League 1 wil not be as competitive as other recent seasons. I have taken out the top 3 and bottom 4. Mix and match from promotion of league 4 and relegation from the championship as to those teams joining the division and how much of a threat they will be to our hoped promotion push.

Rochdale ------------------------ Leyton Orient --------------------- Peterborough
Exeter ------------------------ Oldham ----------------------MK Dons
Brentford ----------------------- Tranmere ----------------------Bournemouth
Carlisle --------------------------- Walsall ---------------------- Colchester
Hartlepool ----------------------------------------------------------- Charlton
Yeovil ------------------------------------------------------------ Sheff Wed
Dag & Red

Teams on the left I cannot remember any of them being in the championship (2nd division).
Teams in the middle, its seems a long time since any of them were there? and if 1 of those is going to push it may be Orient.
Teams on the right are the ones that have pushed and had recent experience in the championship. I know MK have not butthey seem to be a threat everyyear in league 1. and Bournmouth have some momentum.
Chesterfield I cannot remember them ever being there but they also should have momentum.
We would also have to consider whoever comes down with us.
Please all those who want to be negative, constructive negative.

We will also have to consider that we will be the big club everyone wants to beat, be like a cup game for most of those clubs.

What I hope I'm getting at is Norwich, weeds, Leicester, Derby, Forest, were all in that division when there were more teams with championship experience were there also.

I think we played one of those teams this season and played a team from the league below the season before.
Should help you work out one or two things.

Previous seasons efforts, Championship "pedigree", any sort of history will all mean shit when the season kicks off. Who would have thought Brighton under Poyet would piss the division this season, or rookie manager Lee Clark would be in with a shout of promotion with the worlds biggest club in there amongst them?

In my opinion it's about us rather than anyone else. Have we got the nous, or capability, of removing the financial drain of unsustainable wages from the club whilst bringing in players of the quality (and cheapness) to mount a serious challenge? Have we got a manager who can deliver or are we stuck with a man who has bought Collins and will play him until the day he is sacked?
There are no teams who you look at and fear but there are none that our current side would roll over by 4 or 5 either.

Everyone thought this was the weakest championship they could remember and we've been relegated with something to spare.

Leeds and Norwich have been big suprises this season, and reading are flying, i can see them clinching second, and sending us down in the process.

We're not talking about this season though we're talking about next and league 1 has been very strong for a few years and now looks very weak. I have no idea about how to read our financial state but other medium clubs have done well from going down to league 1.

We don't have the ambition of any of those clubs, we don't have anyone who cares as much as the leadership at those clubs, we have no fucking players who're any better than pub players.

Too optimistic? Too right.

yes but look at our pies!

Hmm, good point, we do have exceedingly good pies. Thank you Uncle Richard.

Well if you didn't waffle on using ten words where one will do, people would have got it. Do you want me to give you some private tuition?

What a pathetic way of having a go at someone - not even in the same thread so you troll around looking for a thread that a poster who had a go at you set up just to give a little tit for tat. grow up

I think we'll do a wensdy and find it much more difficult than expected. I am just going on my visit to Hartlepool in the early cup round. We were piss poor and if I remember rightly had our 1st shot around the 80th minute? I fear it's going to be a long visit .

© Irvine, Megson and every other piss-poor manager (and there's plenty of them).

Look, it's a pub league. No excuses next season. No giving Adams until Christmas to see if he's 'up to the job' (which, patently he isn't). No 'missing key players through injury'. Just do it.

Keep the majority of the current squad and we will struggle next year. Get rid and clear-out we will be Champions....

You seem a very angry person, is there a problem?

You have a z at the end of your name and you're offering growing up advice??

Perhaps you should put a smiley after every contribution, that makes everything alright
