Some debate and rumours on BU saying that Tony Daley has been sacked and Kidd to take that role on as well as coach.

:o nonono... i like TD good for fitness!

yeh i hope they are just rumours, when i first got to my seat I was wondering where he was.

no you weren't, I saw what you was doing! dirty boy!

Reports on the star website suggest that an announcement will be made shortly to confirm TD's departure.

Perhaps Nade's lack of fitness after over a year at the club may have had some bearing on this decision.

Well that is a matter of opinion and one that i don't share with you.

Nothing against Daley but i'm completely indifferent to the news of his departure; this is a period of transition and i see no problem in changing the fitness coach as well.

I never said i had a problem with changing the fitness coach. I was just saying I doub't Nade's lack of fitness had anything to do with it when the rest of the team were super fit.

You are probably right, i just don't share your opinion that our squad was super fit last season; i suppose we will be able to make a better judgement once a new fitness coach comes in and applies a new training schedule.

yeah i thought our team was at the higher end of the fitness table. players like monty and geary ran and ran.

think there will be a demise now hes gone.

Good luck TD!

News on Daley's replacement...........

Following official confirmation that Tony Daley, United's fitness coach, has severed his ties with Bramall Lane, Robson's admission that his replacement will be unveiled after the latest round of international fixtures suggests a top-level figure has been handed the responsibility of ensuring the first team squad remains in peak condition.

Daley parted company with United before last weekend's victory over West Brom, following a "difference of opinion" over training methods.

Despite announcing that an appointment has already been made, Robson has refused to divulge his identity.

Robson hinted that his new coaching staff possess plenty of 'qualifications.' "I'm not going to go into names at this stage but I'm expecting them to be here after the next round of international fixtures."

This is very exciting news, i can't wait for Mr Motivator to be unveiled :)

i thought our squad looked fit last yearand i agree they looked fittter than some of the club's we played against

Yeah true. Just hope the new fitness coach can continue the trend.

I reckon we'll see a marked improvement if an international class fitness coach joins the club.

Could you give some examples of teams that looked less fit then ourselves last season?

Watford are a perfect example.

BUT I don't believe our squad was "super fit" though, I think we are taking naturally energetic players like geary and monty and giving Daley the credit for it.

Watford was the only example that i could come up with, but motivation and morale has to be a factor there.

Players like Geary and Monty will run all day regardless of which team they were playing for; they are naturally fit guys.

I suppose i'm in the minority but i think that our lads could be fitter and i reckon this could be a factor in our slow start this year.
