Brian Launders, last seen getting concussed at Stockport in the Heath era.
I was at that wimbledon game but dont really remember him. A few years later I saw a photo of him with the youth team and he does look the same as the nigel Steane in the link below. Just checked that he was born in NottinghamOn one game wonders, have you ever seen a pic of Nigel Steane? Came on as a sub towards the end of the game v Wimbledon on 26/4/80 for his one and only appearance, but never appeared in any team group and I have never ever seen an image of him.
Did he actually exist?

Who was the lad that also came in around the same time as Launders? A defender if my memory is correct.
I was at that game. A Stockport player got sent off in the 1st half. Marcus Bent put us into the lead but Stockport levelled. Launders played for only a few minutes before the horrible head clash in a 50-50 ballSagi Burton. Was on the bench at Stockport, but didn't come on, and was released with Launders having not played a game.

It was a bad tackle, yes, but cant remember if it was Woodhouse that was on the receiving end. Just remembered that the scorer for Stockport's equaliser was D'Jaffo! Was only 9 at the time, but seem to think said Stockport player was sent off for a potential leg breaking challenge on Curtis Woodhouse?
It's Richard Edghill from the traumatic 3-2 defeat at Ipswich in 2003.
I know nothing about the woman he's with
Apparently he's married to Alex Stepney's niece.

He played more than a handful number of games for us during the 1975-76 season before having his leg broken in the 4-0 defeat at Man City in March. Dont think he played a competitive game for us again after thatJohn McGeady indeed. Rather less successful than his son.

He did. He started in our first game of 76-7 (0-2 defeat at Luton) and played 2-3 other games that season. I have a vague idea he broke his leg again in a reserve game that season and didn't play again after that. He remained on our books until summer 78 before being released.
Yep. Chris Byrne. Was only 9 at the time, but seem to think said Stockport player was sent off for a potential leg breaking challenge on Curtis Woodhouse?
uess who today - and bonus points if you say which famous famous footballer the woman is related to.
I went to that match at Luton! Dont remember McGeady playing in that match. We were poor that day. Ricky Hill played in that match
I know you have this photo as Edgehill but it looks very much like Ryan Mallon to me?
I was very confident before the match that we had a squad to take us back to the 1st division! How naive I was!Team was
