Well, I watched this 2 game extravaganza on my 'hit me with your dodgy stick' and enjoyed it, but not primarily as a game but as a chance to see 22 different players and see how the shape and tactics are building up. It was obvious from the off that the 2nd 11 game had the more recognisable better team players and that proved to be the case.
First observation was that there were pigmy spies in the adjoining households, giggling at our un-massiveness with hardly any spectators in.
The training pitch which I assume is the academy pitch looked in good order, and the first game kicked off in speedy fashion and young Osula scored another 2 goals, taking each finish with aplomb, and carrying on from the Case Pia game.
I think he looks more ready for the first team than Jebberson, but these two are young and there is time for maturing and further experience to be built, Jebbo in particular losing several balls with bad first touches, also he had some wayward shots, later in the game however Osula missed a couple of glorious chances to add to his tally, I am looking forward to both on their progression, but once all our strikers are fit, or we add to the squad with new attacking faces I feel another full season loan in league one would assist their development.
What this front pairing show is that we can totally change the games from the Ndiayi and Brewster pairing which are more intricate and skilful, and with Billy and McBurnie to return I think we have enough for the championship, unless of course we loan out the first pair.
Across both games we have built a good squad across the back line with Bogle/Baldock/Seriki on one flank, then centrally Bash/Anel/Egan/Robinson/Clarke (to come in), and on the left RND/Enda/Lowe/Osborne. Worth mentioning that in the pre-season to date that Osborne has shown really well with both goals, and assists, and no shortage of talent.
In the middle the old guard of Fleck/Norwood/Berge being joined by Doyle, this is a really short area and a couple of midfielders required, even more if Berge moves on as we all suspect could happen.

To date having watched the Case Pia game then today's offering I can see we are becoming a pressurising team, and a lot of silky passing and intricate triangles, but equally adept at longer accurate passing, I for one am looking forward to the game at Scunny on Saturday where I'll be there in person on this one.
My final thoughts are that we do need those extra new players in the positions that Hecky has identified, his acquisitions to date look good so hopefully he will finish the job and automatics should be within our grasp, certainly I would be very disappointed with anything below 6th.

I thought all of the goals were well struck, though there was an element of luck/crap keeping for Brewster's first. The keeper made a meal of that and should've saved it. That said, glad to see Brewster scoring again. I've got a good feeling about him this season. He looks hungry for it and fired up.

It's the lower level pitches that are the problem ,the top pitches had work done recently .
