Got a mate who is a sports photographer. Quite often ask him if he has any good photos to which he will undoubtedly post one of Sharp/Clarke/Duffy/Brooks. It winds relatives of his up who support those from over there.
I think he let slip that he was a Blade when Duffy scored on 24th Sept as he was located in front of the Away end. It didn’t go down well with the people who had bounced for a few seconds.

In a pub in Prague where they systematically ripped of tourists who didn't speak the language, I'd stopped in for a beer on the fly. Two tourists came in and I felt some obligation to help them not get scammed, started talking to them and found out they were from Sheffield (without telling them where I was from). Crunch moment, as I asked quite disinterestedly if they were Wednesday or United. Wrong answer, I finished my beer and left them to their fate.

Looking back, I could have told the bar staff on the way out that they had MY beer covered as well. Missed opportunity.

And recently, a friend who works in a hotel in the Sheffield area noticed they hadn't changed the car park code for a while brought this up with management. Of course when the response was along the lines of 'ah yes, what number to change it to?' it was clear: 2424.

Haha. My wife picked up some John West tuna in Morrisons and I didn't realise until we got to the till. I took it out and put it to one side. Told her we don't buy "pig tuna". To say she was confused doesn't do it justice.
