To whoever set up the Sheffield music montage on MOTD2....

Most modern Sheffield music is made by Wednesday fans, alas. Monkeys, RATM, Milburn, even Rebecca Taylor from the splendid Moonlandingz.
And all crap nobodies.

Hawkwind’s last three albums all made the top 40 but I wouldn’t call them modern.
Yeah but loved the girl with the big boobs who was their version of Bez, especially when she got stripped off. "Pphhhhhwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwooooaaaahhhh phnarg phnarg " as Finbar would say.

Actually I quite like that they used “wednesdayite” bands, in some ways shows how relevant we are to be associated with Sheffield successes and increasingly how they’re not!!

I know which I'd rather listen to.

(It's Hawkwind)

But my point is the Arctic Monkeys album releases are still a big deal and they still headline festivals.
I’m off to see them tomorrow night. At the Albert Hall.

Surprised there was no Def Leppard - outsold every other band that was played on the intro. As for John McCure - middle class university graduate pretending he worked in the steel factory.
Can’t be doing with owt after Pyromania, it got so cheesy you’d need a special room to keep it in, but a bit of ‘Photograph’ wouldn’t have hurt.

Think lead single from Heaven 17 Glen Gregory was a SW fan.
Also believe Tom Bailey from Chesterfields Thompson Twins also supported SW.

i went to a fair amount of away games in the mid 80’s and a few times I saw Paul Heaton, lead single of the Housemartins.
He always used to turn up 10 minutes late and leave 10 minutes before the match finished.

Must be because they’d nothing better to do in their spare time.
Hardly going to visit Hillsborough were they?

Nailed him Kev he is nowt but a sanctimonious boring piggy cunt I fucking hate the tosser......mind the fucking gap John😂😂😂😂😂

I like that RAtM one that sounds like the other one, hmm or am I thinking of that other one.

Completely unconcerned about local musicians and who they support. Music is music and football is football. I loved the musical montage and couldn’t give a monkeys about Reverend and the Makers being included, for me “Heavyweight” is a top song. Also really pleased to see they included the Sherlocks too. It’s the type of playlist we should be pumping out before every match if you ask me. Promote the rich musical heritage of our area worry less about who might have spent an afternoon at Hillsborough.

Richard Hawley's also an Owl. He ended the Saturday night gig at the Octagon last month with a WAWAW - the only bum note on an otherwise flawless night

Couple of the Blammo lads were Blades. One of Groop Dogdrill was a season ticket holder at Blades.

That's cus they have no football worth watching so music is the alternative.

I admit, I've I'd seen RATM, I would have assumed it was Rage Against the Machine too.

Their football allegiances are unconfirmed at this time. Though Wednesday are welcome to Tom Morello.

De La Rocha is a die hard blade.

What made me smile was the intro, he didn't say here is match of the day 2 or action from Sheffield United v Manchester United, he said let's catch up on the action from bramall Lane!
