Boxing Day will be the first game I’ve been to since my Dad passed away in November this year. I remember watching the derby with my Dad and my uncle whilst he was laid up in his hospital bed. That victory was all the sweeter for it.

Love you Dad,
Lots of love to all those who are missing someone at this time of year x

To my dad and granddad, whose names adorn the brickwork at Bramall Lane, where they will never die. (They did you both proud this year, you would've loved this)

To each and every one of you who had someone who ushered you through the turnstiles for the first time and sat you on their knee, or a mate who you sank several pints with in celebration or defeat or just to get through the bloody game at times, whose absence makes you all the poorer for it.

The story of this club is told in the lives of those who were a part of it. Each life a chapter. Keep telling their story and they live forever.

Have a wonderful evening and a Merry Christmas everybody.

I've got to go now...to get this thing out of my eye...

Excellent post and your not the only one with something in his eye after reading it.

Love to my Grandad, who's side I never left when he took me to games. He certainly would have loved this period in the clubs history.

R.I.P to all Blades no longer with us and a very Merry Christmas to those still with us.

My Dad was a massive Wednesday fan and he took me to BDTBL when the South Stand opened. The rest is history.
He died 29 years ago & I still miss him. I loved our football rivalry.
Life’s bigger than football - but I still want us to batter ‘em on Jan 12th!
Merry Christmas Pops xx

Good to see you're doing well mate. I heard through the grapevine you had a bit of a rough time of it a while back. Glad it's all worked out for you.
I'm missing Derby in New Year but give me a shout if you're up in Sheffield anytime soon. Be good to catch up.

Sparing a thought for my blade mates Ken Yoyo Yoemans and Steve Keen, no longer with us. You would have loved the last 12 months.
Also for my ex father in law. He supported the darkside but was killed this year on the eve of my daughters 21st just hours after our great win at Southend
May you all RIP

It's some of the Family others talked about but you never quite knew them.

My condolences. The derby memory will always be there though, I hope you can take comfort from that. Take care pal.

At a time like this speaking of Blades that are unfortunately gone ,
We are all 1 family , we all have tales of bringing loved ones , and being taken by loved ones to see United
Over a six year spell I lost both parents and a younger brother
All who who supported the dark side
My father btought me to see our beloved Blades and a passion was born ,
my son is now a Blade , and my American son in law is as well .
I extend my deepest sympathy to all Blades at this both sad and joyous time of the year ,
I’ve renewed friendships with people , both old and new
I look forward to seeing my friends in January for the pigs game and for many many years and games to come .
RIP to all our Blades family
Darren , Dublin10 Blade

Owd Ken....Big Sam Major woulda loved this past 12 month,as would old Malcolm Harrison, his younger sister sadly passed over yesterday....
I've been to too many funerals this year, most of them who should have had a few more years yet....

Comment after taking my dad to the game for a couple of years in his later life (around 2001-02):-

LM "Can you actually see the pitch dad" ?
LM's Dad "Neyou.....but i can feel it"

He'd have been mispronouncing players names all the way to 100 points last season :)
That’s a sentiment for all Blades which will now live with me for ever “Neyou......but I can feel it”. Wow! Just fucking wow! Sorry for the bad language but it’s just the emotion I can feel. Now, where is that Optrex eye bath? R.I.P. all Blades that have gone to the spiritual kop at Beautiful Spiritual Bramall Lane!

Great to hear from you Hando. It has gotta be a couple of years at least since I saw you, and wondered how you was doing pal, as I’d heard you was having a rough time. Glad to hear you are doing well
