We've got nowt to lose now, we are more or less down already so caution to the wind and go for it, no point setting up not to concede, (not worked) and nick a 1-0 win, be a bit adventurous, try and rediscover a bit of our flair, there were signs of the old SUFC last night, particularly when we went 4-3-3 so for me he has to start with that....and drop Ramsdale, (sorry).

I fully expect however that we will go with 5 across the back again, (to be fair Robinson was OK last night) and I suspect he will persevere through stubbornness alone with Ramsdale.

I think he'll play with a 4-4-2 diamond / 4-3-1-2. Ampadu anchoring at the base, McGoldrick playing behind the front two. What makes it more likely in my mind is a) it's a system we regularly turn to and so are well drilled in it and b) because it's a system we often turn to, I think Wilder can say something like "it's a system we often use during games" rather than have to position it as an entire overhaul, which he seems very anti doing.

Do that and we'll get picked off. No issue later in the game if we are chasing, or dare I say it, going for a win later on. The key to any potential success on Sunday is the intensity of our play, last night was a million miles better than Sunday and if we carry that on then positive results will start to follow. Enough to keep us up? Likely not, but I'm far more positive after that performance than I was after Southampton.

Such is the fickle nature of football...

It's not fickle to get excited if the worst run in league history comes to an end.

Most fans I think still see him as a hero, and won't forget what he's done for us, but his refusal to change the system and mystifying subs are putting us in danger of relegation. In that case, there's no shame in questioning the manager and I'm sure Wilder himself would concede that.

I'm in that boat myself. Love him, want him to stay, but also want him to make a decent sub and make it faster. I've said that pretty much since he joined.
