His drive was key yesterday. If anything once we took him off we lost something.

Considering he was up against one of the leagues best players and also played on the wrong side - somewhere he has only recently been deployed despite our LCB problems dating back to JOC’s injury - I thought Basham did very well yesterday.
I was thinking exactly the same yesterday. The number of times we drifted crosses into the box, even when we didn’t have McBurnie on the pitch, that were defended easily was very frustrating, and I recalled how we used to pass around intricately with the aim of creating a chance for Billy two yards out. It’s a clear change in tactic, and it’s effectiveness is questionable.I don't think we're creating chances around the six yard box in the same way as we used to.
It's not necessarily a bad thing but we used to play to Billy's strengths with everything centred around overloads, get to the byline, cut it back for Billy... now it's a little more varied as Doyle, Ndiaye and McAtee don't mind going through the middle.
Agree with this. His presence at the top end of the pitch gave us more than what Khadra did when he came on. We looked less like scoring. His drive was key yesterday. If anything once we took him off we lost something.
He’s been poor, I agree. But that makes him being decent is worth mentioning. One swallow and all that....Bash has been beyond shocking most of the season.
In the pantomime spirit, oh no it isn’t.Sadly today was another example of Old Father Time claiming another.
Top goal scorer last season shouldn't have played last seasonBilly shouldn’t have started a game after the relegation season
Blades legend but he is significantly holding our younger forwards back and blocking there progression

Assist my arse....

And to be fair that demonstrates the problem we currently have. From the starting line up today, Baldock, Basham, Osborn McAtee and Sharp would all be on the bench if all of the others were back from injury and/or not carrying knocks. That’s half of the current starting 11 (or outfield 10, I should say)
You are correct but basham/osborn/baldock/macatee would all walk into the first 11 of the majority of the teams i8n the league
So the injury excuse is nonsesne the squad is good enough
Think it's more to do with younger players not taking their chances...He was correct with what 10 in 40 from open play any striker worth his salt should get that
He also offered us nothing else IMO
Im not slagging him off but you cant deny him playing blocks the pathway for younger players
Macatee would be nurtured into any team in this division. But only a desperate team would throw a talented 19 year old who has never played in this league or in adult football n at the deep endYou are correct but basham/osborn/baldock/macatee would all walk into the first 11 of the majority of the teams i8n the league

Thanks for scoring another goal today Billy. It’s what you do. Love you. xxxBilly is simply one magnificent man. I love him.
I love the guy but I’ve always thought that the little dink over the advancing keeper that he did today has always been a bit lacking. Don’t take this as a criticism as such but i reckon if he had this in his locker more he would have been a top top striker & not just the top striker he undoubtedly isA great finish for the goal today. Despite his recent drought (by his supreme standards) as soon as he was through 1 on 1, I would have bet my house on that going in.
