Kept seeing space behind McGoldrick and Clarke today and NO ONE was taking advantage of it.

I feel like the L1 set up we still adopt has had its day/been worked out.

We seem predictable. Same passes, same runs.

We'd been found out by Christmas last year. Anyone who suggested a change got crucified on here.

Tried during pre - season, so evidently thought about.

Disagree. Once McGoldrick is settled I think he’d be ideal. Great touch, holds the ball up well and can do lay offs for fun.

Playing as a lone striker is much more physically demanding than with a partner. Don't think he's athletic enough plus he's injury prone.

It’s worth trying at Boro I think, keep it tight in Midfield and hope Boro have an nervy off day .

But next week at QPR back to two upfront (Sharp and McGoldrick) as that is a must win for us.

I almost agree, but I'd play Bryan or Lafferty instead of Stevens, he seems to have become complacent and worse, if that's possible?

If we had a Brian Deane type figure one up top would be an option. unfortunately we haven’t.

Can you imagine Leon Clarke up front on his own?

Our best forward is Billy but he doesn’t suit the loan striker role.

Unless we pull a major surprise out of the transfer hat this week it’s a no from me.

The flaw in this plan is we don’t have 2 attacking midfielders who can play 90 mins.

Duffy can do 60-70 and then woodburn. That’s it for attacking midfielders and we have no wide attacking midfielders at all. We wouldn’t be able to introduce anything from the bench either.

Imo it was a baffling decision to let Holmes go if we were thinking about this - we’re already short as it is. An injury and we are already bare bones

To me this is as much a priority as a striker.
